Even through the pain and the blur of tears clouding my vision, I still turned to look at him.
I managed to smile as he quickly crossed the room toward me. Ria immediately stepped aside so he could stand beside the bed, and he gently took my hand.
"I'm here, my love. You don't have to be afraid anymore," he whispered before leaning down to kiss my forehead.
"W-What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in the Raven Pack for the alliance meeting?" I asked, struggling to speak through the pain.
"How could I not be by your side while you're giving birth to our first child?" he answered softly.
His words made my heart ache with relief. He kept his promise—to be with me when the time came. I had thought it would be impossible, especially with the Raven Pack being so far away from Blood Moon.
Then, I proceed to push until the pain went numb, and the first cry of our baby echo throughout the clinic. It made me smile, a wide smile before I fell into darkness.
