When night fell, Fang Yu finally returned to his residence.
Over the past year, his magical cultivation had gone fairly smoothly. With the holiday starting tomorrow, he could continue to lie low and grow stronger as quickly as possible.
Before long, he entered cultivation.
At the same time, he tried to calm his heart.
Seeing those spirited classmates today, striving along the path of magic, had stirred quite a few emotions within him.
Two years later, the Bo City Disaster would arrive.
The fate of those classmates would be self-evident, very few would survive. If he didn't want to remain passive when that time came,
He needed the strength to resist.
As the timeline drew closer and closer, a sense of urgency rose within him.
The next day.
Sunlight streamed in. Fang Yu stepped onto the balcony and took a deep breath. When he looked down, he noticed someone had appeared in the courtyard.
Clad in green, standing gracefully, long hair flowing. At that moment, she slightly lifted her head and met Fang Yu's gaze.
Early morning.
A gentle breeze drifted by.
The tips of Leng Qing's hair swayed lightly as she looked up at the balcony without moving.
Fang Yu, looking down at her, felt as though he were gazing upon a breathtaking scene, spring beauty faintly revealed beneath her garments.
His once calm heart couldn't help but stir.
For a moment, he wanted to sigh at the beauty and allure of the woman before him.
But he quickly regained composure, though a trace of bewilderment lingered. Despite their prior physical intimacy, it did nothing to steady him now.
He couldn't maintain his usual calm.
At that moment, Leng Qing slowly spoke.
"Have you already forgotten who I am?"
Hearing this, Fang Yu leapt down into the courtyard.
"How could I? I was just too surprised to see you and didn't react in time."
Facing her directly, Leng Qing wore a green robe cinched at the waist, the hem of her dress reaching the ground. Coupled with her cold gaze, she gave off an air that was difficult to approach.
This woman was both powerful and beautiful, with a mysterious background.
He didn't know whether his judgment about her connection to the Judgement council was correct.
"What have you been doing these past six months?" Leng Qing withdrew her gaze and asked casually.
"Cultivating diligently," Fang Yu answered.
"What's your cultivation level now?" Leng Qing asked.
"Basic Tier Level One," Fang Yu replied softly.
"Is that so?" Leng Qing looked at him with a half-smile.
Fang Yu was skilled at lying and remained wary of her. But she accepted the answer and had no intention of pressing further.
After a short while, Leng Qing entered the house and sat down on a chair, glancing at the tea set, signaling for him to brew tea.
Seeing this, Fang Yu let out a breath of relief.
Fortunately, she hadn't pursued the previous question.
He arranged the tea set, rinsed everything, and began brewing tea.
Fang Yu didn't speak. Leng Qing quietly sipped her tea.
During this time, Fang Yu occasionally glanced at the woman beside him. It seemed that even while drinking tea, her brows would furrow slightly.
He didn't know whether she was pondering some difficult matter or simply found the tea unpleasant.
He had no habit of drinking tea.
So this tea had been stored for quite a while, and he had never tried it himself. He hoped she wouldn't notice.
After a long silence, Leng Qing suddenly said:
"After some time, I plan to make a trip outside Bo City, into the wilderness. When the time comes, I'll come find you. You'll go with me."
"Ah…" Hearing that they would be leaving Bo City, Fang Yu was startled. "I…"
"What?" Leng Qing looked at him calmly. "No time? Or you just don't want to go?"
Fang Yu analyzed the situation.
He had barely even left Bo City, let alone ventured into the wilderness.
He didn't know what Leng Qing intended to do. But the wilderness was nothing like the city, that was territory where demon beasts frequently appeared.
After a moment of silence, Fang Yu spoke. "Can I refuse?"
"Five million."
Feeling the allure of money, Fang Yu suddenly sensed the dangers of the wilderness drifting far away from him and hurriedly said,
"It's an honor to travel alongside you, Senior."
"Nothing but lies."
Leng Qing smiled, her gaze settling on Fang Yu. This fellow was not only thick-skinned, but greedy as well.
"Where are we going? How long will we be out?" Fang Yu asked.
"Not certain yet. At least a few days, at most a month," Leng Qing replied.
"Understood," Fang Yu said.
Seeing that Fang Yu had agreed, Leng Qing rose and walked toward the innermost part of the house.
Fang Yu followed, thinking she was about to leave. Unexpectedly, she went straight up to the second floor.
This was the second time she had gone upstairs, wasn't it?
The first time was at the very beginning and it had given him a rather wonderful night.
"Your little building seems sturdier now," Leng Qing commented while ascending the stairs.
"It was renovated once," Fang Yu answered somewhat awkwardly.
Because after they had spent that passionate night together, when she woke the next morning in embarrassment and anger, she had used Wind Element magic to blast him away.
The room had suffered minor damage, so he had specifically hired someone to repair it.
If there were a next time, perhaps it would not collapse so easily.
Before long, Leng Qing arrived on the second floor, passed through the bedroom, and stepped onto the balcony.
She stood there, lowering her gaze toward the courtyard, silent.
After a short while, she stepped back two paces and motioned for Fang Yu to stand before her, facing her.
"Like this?"
Fang Yu walked onto the balcony and stood directly in front of Leng Qing, asking in confusion.
Though puzzled, he complied.
The two faced each other. Leng Qing gave a slight nod, then extended her slender, fair left hand and gently pressed it against Fang Yu's chest.
The sudden movement caught him off guard. Before he could think further, he felt a powerful force.
In the next instant, he was sent backward. Within a single breath, he was flying off the balcony, falling as he watched Leng Qing push him down with his own eyes.
The sensation was strangely surreal.
Since the height was not great, there was a thud as Fang Yu hit the ground.
It hurt a little.
As an Basic-Tier mage, and with Wind Element cushioning released by that woman as he fell, dropping from the second floor naturally would not injure him. He simply could not understand why she had done it.
When he stood up and looked toward the balcony, he suddenly froze.
A gentle breeze brushed past. The woman on the balcony had her long hair swaying more noticeably, her skirt fluttering a few times as well.
Loose strands by her ears drifted before her lips.
She stood by the railing, one hand resting on the wooden balustrade, her expression calm as she casually looked down.
Their eyes met.
Fang Yu's previously calm heart stirred once more. The view from below was entirely different.
As the wind lifted her skirt, a faint glimpse of white deep beneath flickered in and out of sight, utterly captivating.
After a moment, Fang Yu averted his gaze, thinking: Could this woman be taking revenge on me? Did she notice that glimpse of snowy white upstairs earlier? Is this her reaction out of embarrassment?
Who would have thought that this usually aloof woman had such a childish side?
And yet…
Now she was offering an even greater spectacle. That faint white shadow was far more enticing than before. Wasn't this backfiring?
Calm down, calm down!
If she caught him again, it would not be as simple as a fall.
"In two days, we leave at twelve. Meet at the station."
"Alright."
"That's settled."
After leaving those words behind, Leng Qing stepped into the wind and departed, vanishing from the balcony.
Watching her departing figure, Fang Yu sighed. Couldn't she just leave through the main door properly?
Putting on airs like some celestial maiden, floating off so gracefully?
Shaking off his thoughts, Fang Yu stepped back into the courtyard and returned to his room to cultivate.
The next day.
Fang Yu left his residence to purchase necessities for the trip and to check whether there were any Magic Boots for sale.
He already had a Defensive Magic Tool.
His Ice Element and Space Element magic had both reached Basic-Tier Level Two.
For the time being, he did not lack offensive or defensive means. His only shortcoming was mobility on the battlefield.
Unfortunately, he lacked the funds.
Magic Boots cost six hundred thousand, while his total assets were only five hundred thousand. He could not afford them.
Poverty!
