I squirmed, signing rapidly: I can walk. I'd prefer to shift and run through the portal myself.
"Absolutely not," Zayne said flatly. "You just shifted for the first time. Your body is still adjusting. Running through a dimensional portal in wolf form could destabilize you."
I glared at him, signing more emphatically: I'm fine.
"You're covered in blood, half-feral, and running on adrenaline," Rafayel added, his tone clipped. "You're not fine."
I turned my glare on him. Then, with deliberate slowness, I signed: Then I'll ride with Caius.
Both Zayne and Rafayel went very still.
"Excuse me?" Zayne's voice dropped to something dangerously cold.
Rafayel's eyes narrowed. "You'd prefer to ride with Caius?"
