"Like I said, it was a requirement," he took a breath. "You must not consummate the bond."
"We would never…" But even Zayne's voice trailed off at the look on the Zeta's face.
"The bond is a manipulator; with it incomplete, be prepared for anything."
"Like what?" I asked.
"Everything and anything, because you are defying cosmic order—if you push, something will push back even harder."
"Explain," Zayne ordered.
"You might not want to consummate," he did not sound convinced in the slightest. "But you will be forced. Ruts, heat, issues with your abilities, sicknesses."
