Chapter 24 - Chapter 24: Shinobi Games

Miki didn't know what Chiri was thinking; Miki was only wondering how she had fallen for the Genjutsu.

There were no signs at all, or rather, Miki had never seen a Sharingan before.

This was very confusing.

The usual method for common Genjutsu is to interfere with the target's Chakra using one's own Chakra.

The goal is to invade.

It requires conditions such as actions, environment, sound, gaze, smell, or a medium to be cast.

Miki was very sure that she hadn't noticed any such abnormalities.

On the contrary, the surroundings had been too quiet along the way.

But this was normal for a secluded area.

How did she do it?

Because it was truly a bit unbelievable.

This Ninjutsu was not normal!

As expected of a master who could develop the ultimate Genjutsu, Izanami, Miki couldn't understand how it was achieved.

This meant that currently, Miki had no way to defend against this person's Genjutsu.

And this person released it too quickly, not giving Miki a chance to experiment with releasing the Genjutsu.

"Why haven't you gone home yet?" Chiri broke the silence first.

"I just finished training," Miki replied.

"So diligent, do even geniuses work this hard?"

"What about you? Aren't you going home at this hour?" Miki retorted.

Chiri was silent for a moment, then smiled and said, "Who is this child?"

Her gaze fell on Insect Sister.

"She's my younger sister."

"Aren't you going to introduce her?"

"She's an idiot," Miki said. "Bark."

"Woof!" Insect Sister barked happily, following Miki's command.

"Ah…" Chiri covered her small mouth, a little surprised, then said, somewhat annoyed, "Don't bully her like that!"

"I haven't seen you show this kind of righteousness at school," Miki scoffed.

"Neither Miki nor Princess Tsunade stepped in, so why should I meddle?" Chiri was a bit angry, her chubby cheeks slightly puffed out.

"So you're meddling in my business?" Miki said. "This isn't Uchiha."

"Aren't we friends? Your sister is my sister," Chiri said.

"Are you serious?"

"Yes!" Chiri nodded vigorously.

"…" Miki fell silent.

To be honest, she was a little scared.

Mainly, she was afraid that one day this person would sacrifice herself to awaken her Mangekyo.

It wasn't impossible.

Because this person was bound to awaken it.

In short, being Chiri's friend was very risky.

"Why are you silent?" Chiri asked.

"I'm wondering what attracted you, making you like a moth to a flame," Miki said.

Miki had a good idea of how terrifying she was in the eyes of children.

Especially in the eyes of girls.

Chiri was stunned for a moment.

"It's the strength in the face of loneliness."

She said inexplicably.

"You always seem to be alone, so why aren't you afraid?"

"I'm a little envious."

Still a child, only thinking about useless things.

Miki gave Chiri a deep look and said, "It seems you have a lot of free time."

With that, Miki turned and left.

Her mother, Yumi, might be getting a little anxious.

Chiri watched Miki with disappointment.

She had been flatly rejected.

It was the first time she wanted to make a friend, but she failed.

She seemed to have overestimated Miki's coldness.

Standing under the moonlight, Chiri lowered her head in disappointment.

"However…"

Miki's clear, cold voice drifted over.

Chiri suddenly looked up.

"Occasionally, when I have time, I can play with you, like Shinobi games."

In the distance, Miki pulling Insect Sister away, their figures gradually fading.

Chiri's face slowly broke into a bright smile.

"Indeed, she's very gentle."

She murmured in a voice barely audible.

The next day was a normal workday.

Miki was a bit drowsy on the way.

This was a normal phenomenon from staying up late; there would be plenty of time to catch up on sleep during classes.

As long as she sat up straight, that guy Ogawa wouldn't be able to tell what Miki was doing under her mask.

Anyway, Miki didn't grind her teeth or talk in her sleep.

But in the next second, Miki woke up.

At the street corner, in the bright sunlight, Chiri was waiting prettily by the roadside.

Miki raised a hand to rub her forehead.

It felt like it was buzzing, buzzing even more than when Insect Sister unexpectedly crawled into her bed in the middle of the night.

It would definitely turn into that, right? Holding hands to go to the bathroom.

No way!

How much love was this girl lacking?

I'm not some old mother taking care of a little brat!

Clearly, Miki had no way to deal with Chiri.

She ignored Chiri and walked past her, but Chiri naturally followed beside Miki.

"Do you want me to treat you to a meal? I have money," Chiri said with a smile.

"Don't buy friends with money," Miki said. "Are you very rich?"

"Yes, very rich. I receive three payments every month," Chiri replied with a smile. "If it's for Miki, I can give it all to you."

This girl…

It was the regular survivor's pension and the Village's orphan living allowance.

Miki found the topic a bit uncomfortable.

"I'm not eating," Miki flatly refused.

"Ah…" Chiri was a little disappointed and said, "Then is there anything Miki likes?"

"Thank you, no need, small animals," Miki said concisely.

Chiri understood and said, "Oh? You like small animals? I thought you only liked insects."

"Doesn't it seem like it?"

"No, it doesn't," Chiri said.

Indeed.

I like to eat small animals.

Little chickens, little rabbits, little ducks, little pigs, little fish, and so on.

Miki didn't say it.

To avoid shattering Chiri's illusions.

They chatted and laughed all the way to class, and because of Miki, the punctual single arrival became a duo.

Ogawa would be furious if he saw it.

As for Tsunade, after a period of being timid, she inexplicably gave Miki a challenging look again.

"Just you wait, Insect Woman."

After saying that, she ignored Miki and turned her head away.

Hmm, very confident.

So, where did that confidence come from?

Miki couldn't help but ponder.

According to common reasoning, she should be learning powerful new Ninjutsu.

How nice, a prominent family.

But what could she learn? sealing technique generally had no offensive power, and Tsunade didn't have the conditions for offensive ones.

Medical Ninjutsu also had little offensive power; the Chakra Scalpel was very intimidating, but Tsunade already had her monstrous strength, and a single punch to break all of an opponent's bones was clearly better.

So the answer was Summoning Technique, after all, she was one of the Sannin.

Therefore, there was no threat for now.

During class, Miki found it strange that Hyuga Hitomi hadn't come.

Skipping class wasn't something she would do.

That guy Ogawa didn't offer any explanation either.

He didn't seem anxious at all about a missing student.

Since no one brought it up, it was naturally overlooked by everyone.

Miki was somewhat concerned about that little girl who was burning so fiercely.

The flames in her eyes were blazing; would they turn to ashes or become light?

Hence, she cared about what kind of person she would become in the future.

Ambitious people would all achieve great things.

On this point, Chiri was too low-key and uncompetitive.

This was very un-Uchiha, yet very Uchiha.

It sounded contradictory, but that was the fact.

During the break, Chiri naturally moved closer to Miki.

She didn't know where Chiri got so many things to talk about.

Mostly some boring little things.

Topics like "my brother dared to eat poop," typical little girl talk.

Miki casually humored her.

Tsunade, her deskmate, had deliberately moved away from Miki since the break to annoy her.

That's why Chiri was able to seize the opportunity to come over.

She wasn't afraid of Tsunade either.

Tsunade's gaze kept drifting over, intentionally or unintentionally.

"That Chiri! Sly Uchiha!"

Tsunade was a little angry, but she didn't know what she was angry about.

Was it Chiri talking to Miki?

Or Miki talking to Chiri?

The difference seemed small but was actually huge.

In short, it was very complicated.

I want to get into the top ten of the new book list.

So, are there any big shots who can cast recommendation votes, monthly votes, or give rewards?

I want them all.

Although I don't have much hope.

If a big shot gives a reward, I can probably secure a spot in the top ten, right?

Currently, it's already in the top twenty of the new book list for newcomers.
