His voice echoed across the global comms rune. It reached every battlement, every courtyard, and every command post on the floating city of Zephyria. The Warlord did not hesitate. He did not negotiate with the heavens.
The Celestial Hegemony had crossed into his airspace. The Golden Fleet hovered just outside the iridescent, pearl-like planetary shield.
They were terrifying. Colossal, spinning wheels of pure, burning golden fire dominated the sky. Thousands of unblinking, glowing white eyes studded the flaming rims of the wheels. Massive chariots forged of solid sunlight floated between the wheels, pulled by spectral lions. Millions of six-winged Seraphim hovered in perfect, rigid military formations, holding longswords made of highly concentrated plasma.
They expected the mortals to kneel. They expected the Warlord to surrender the Crown of the First King.
They received artillery.
