"Ouch, hey that hurts, can't we just leave it like that? Does it really have to go in there?"
Dannep complained at the movements of the woman in front of her. She didn't fully remember when she had fallen asleep, but apparently Ilyss had carried her to her room and let her rest.
But her peace didn't last long when Silvia arrived with her worried mom kit, wanting to treat her.
It's not that Dannep minded the pain of being treated, in fact she felt very grateful for it, but the problem is...
"Come on Dannnep, this is the fifth time I change the needle, this one is even smaller than the last one, it won't hurt you," said Silvia as she brought the needle closer to Dannep.
"No, no, no Silvia, I'm fine it's just a bite!" Dannep shouted in fear, she was afraid of needles.
Although it might seem silly, for Dannep it wasn't. Her trauma and fear came from the night Cythian punished her with needles. Dannep couldn't sleep while the throbbing pieces of metal were pushed under her nails.
Enduring strong physical blows, burns or lashes was something Dannep could handle because it was just pain, but needles were different.
The feeling of pain mixed with irritation and the desperate urge to have them removed left Dannep with a deep trauma toward them.
Cythian quickly grew bored of that kind of punishment when she saw Dannep trembling every time she was about to use it. According to her, she didn't want Dannep trembling when she punished her, and she threw all her needles in front of Dannep, promising she would never use them again.
"But now, one of those things is right in front of me trying to go into my leg, no, no," Dannep thought while trembling.
"God! Dannep I need to treat you, as soon as Ilyss told me you had been kidnapped I rushed to get my kit, I always keep it ready considering how foolish the other two are. But look at that bite on your leg, I need to close the wound."
Silvia explained while looking at Dannep with concern. Dannep felt guilty, but her body moved on its own.
"Ahh, what's going on? The baby doesn't want to take her medicine?"
Yumi's voice entered the room, followed by her footsteps as she approached them.
Silvia rolled her eyes before answering.
"You say good morning, young lady. And what have I told you about walking around in a robe at this hour? You are a lady, behave like one," Silvia scolded in a motherly tone.
"Shut up you cranky old hag, because of the pink-eyed princess my body couldn't be properly taken care of. Ilyss came back tired from the fight and from carrying Dannep and kicked me out of her room."
Dannep swallowed when she heard the blonde's words. She had forgotten everything she had said to Ilyss yesterday.
She felt bad, she felt like she was betraying her companion. She didn't deserve the affection she was receiving from Ilyss. Yumi did. Yumi was the one who gave her body to the queen, not Dannep.
Silvia threw a pillow at Yumi with considerable anger, pulling Dannep out of her spiral of doubts.
"One, it's not Dannep's fault, she didn't ask to be kidnapped. Two, neither of us cares about your sex life. And three, I already told you to go take that robe off!"
Silvia snapped her fingers and Yumi's body began to float. She was using magic.
Dannep was instantly surprised. Silvia had to be a high-level mage to do something like that.
"You damn shitty mage, just because you people can use magic you think you can—!!"
Before she could finish speaking, Silvia snapped her fingers again and Yumi's body shot out of the room, starting to move down the hallway.
"Come talk when you look like a proper lady," Silvia said angrily.
"Oh, you liked what you just saw, didn't you? Sometimes I don't know what you're thinking, but when it comes to magic you're like a little girl who wants candy," Silvia said with a smile, she had noticed Dannep's expression.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to pry, what spell did you use?" Dannep asked with excitement.
"Sorry, but I can't tell you the name of my magic. It seems Zafiro didn't tell you, but every magic user is born with a name in their magic. These names are usually common, so they're not that important. Other names are inherited, sometimes they're known, sometimes not. Royal families are an example of this type of magic."
"Can all royal descendants use magic?" Dannep asked, surprised. She was sure Cythian couldn't use magic.
"Normally yes. Royal families always inherit the magic of one of their parents, and if you're very lucky you might have a child who inherits magic from both, creating a new one. But it can happen that one of the parents has a problem and your child inherits nothing."
"If I'm not mistaken, Cythian's father, the king of Viremonth, was a magic user. So Cythian doesn't have magic because of her mother? Who is her mother?" Dannep continued comparing magic with Cythian in her mind.
"Now the third type of magic, the only and unknown one. In several kingdoms there are kings whose magic is still unknown. In this case it's important to never reveal the name of your magic, because from the name people can begin to create weaknesses and ways to kill you."
"But as a mage you must know the name of your magic. By knowing it you can begin to understand it better, and from there you can start creating spells accordingly."
"Wow, Silvia you know a lot about magic," Dannep said with a smile, but in response Silvia hit her with a pillow.
"If you have the strength to talk about magic, you have the strength to get treated, so let's do it."
After saying that Silvia brought the needle closer to Dannep, ready to close her wound.
"No, no, Silvia I'm fine I'm fine I swear!!" Dannep said in fear while moving her legs.
"Hey Silvia, are you going to traumatize the girl?"
Another voice approached the room. When they looked, it was Seraphin.
"Good morning, how are you? Are you feeling alright Dannep?" Sera said as she approached them.
"Ah, I thought you had already gone off on one of your heroic adventures again. I'm glad you're here, can you help me with Dannep?" Silvia said, already tired of the situation.
"Sure, come on Dannep give me your leg."
Seraphin brought her hands close to the wound on Dannep's leg and began channeling mana into it. In just a few seconds Dannep's wound had healed perfectly.
Not only that, the injuries and internal exhaustion in her body had disappeared. It was like being touched by an angel.
"Alright, I think you're as good as new for today," Sera said with a smile.
"For today?" Silvia asked, more relieved.
"Of course, Dannep and I have a date today."
