Dannep let herself be held by the queen's arms, who soothed her with her voice; she felt calmer and more comfortable.
"I'm sorry, Ilyss, I don't think you wanted to hear this. I'm a horrible person, aren't I?" Dannep asked, still lost in her memories.
In response, Ilyss bit her neck and then gently stroked her head.
"No, no, darling, you were just a child. It's normal to have those feelings," Ilyss said in a calm tone.
"Look, it's night. Tomorrow we have to go to the castle for the princess's birthday. How about we go have dinner with your sister?" After saying that, Ilyss stood up, taking Dannep's hand.
Dannep had taken a long time telling her story, so the hours had passed quickly.
"Yes!" her maid replied enthusiastically.
After leaving the room, Ilyss looked back on it in retrospect. Maybe Luxios hadn't managed to find anything about Layla, but here there was a loose thread she could tie together.
