But even though the city was peaceful, Enzo was far from relaxed.
He buried himself in his duties, spending most of his time ensuring that every corner of the city was secure. Every security detail was reviewed repeatedly. Every minor disturbance, suspicious activity, and unusual movement was investigated thoroughly.
He was searching for one thing.
Victor.
The man had disappeared completely after the attack, leaving behind no trace of where he had gone or what his next move would be. Enzo knew better than to believe that Victor had simply run away. Someone like him would never retreat without a plan.
