Linda finally arrived at the foot of the mountain where Raven had lived all her life. As she tied her horse to a nearby tree, her gaze drifted toward the small thatched house not far away. Thin streams of smoke curled lazily from the chimney, a quiet sign that someone was still home.
Once she finished securing the horse, Linda stood there for a long moment.
Memories she had buried for centuries slowly resurfaced.
The last time she had come here, and returned to the citadel with Raven, Raven had placed a burden upon her shoulders that she had carried ever since. She still remembered every word of that prophecy, every warning, every impossible responsibility that had followed. It was also here that she had first met her Agima.
Sometimes she wondered if it was fate.
No matter how much time passed, she always found herself returning to this lonely mountain.
With a quiet sigh, she made her way toward the cottage.
