Enzo knew the move he was making could either go well or fumble and become the biggest mistake he had ever made.
That was why, when the time for Lord Nikolai to come and see him in the palace arrived, Enzo and Lucien went to his office to wait for him. Enzo spent the first few minutes calculating and thinking of every possible way his plan could go wrong.
He had already made one move by taking Cilia on a walk through the palace. Now he needed to know whether Nikolai had understood the message.
Lucien was not left out because anything that affected Enzo always found a way to affect him too.
He stood near the window with his arms folded, watching Enzo pace around the office.
"You are thinking too much," Lucien finally said.
Enzo stopped and glanced at him "I have to."
"You've already made the move. Whatever happens next, you can't control everything."
Enzo gave him a dry look. "That is exactly why I'm thinking."
Before Lucien could respond, a guard knocked on the door.
