Lucien dragged her a short distance away before Sophia was finally able to pull her hands away from him. She glared at him with her hands akimbo, waiting for him to say whatever it was he wanted to tell her.
Lucien simply sighed, already knowing there was no getting through to her when she was this angry. "I'm sorry, okay? I shouldn't have said what I said. It was terrible of me," Lucien said softly, and the fierceness in Sophia's eyes dropped for a moment before she quickly returned to looking furious.
"You have no right to say that to me. I have worked my ass off, and then you just say those things like my efforts were nothing. Do you know how hard it is for me to want to be a soldier in a Lycan-dominated field?" Sophia lashed out, the frustration she had been carrying finally coming out.
"I know," Lucien replied, his voice remaining calm. "I said that because I just don't want you to get hurt, and if I could take it all back, then I would. Can you forgive me?"
