Half of me went numb when I heard that Arabella was in danger. I realized I had indeed made a huge mistake by leaving the palace without Arabella. I could have taken her with me, but instead, I had left her unprotected with the same people I didn't trust.
Why did I keep giving people second chances?
Sera was supposed to be dead. I should have killed her when I had the chance, when she first allowed Adrian into our territory, but I had allowed her to live, and now look at what she had done. She had betrayed me and put Arabella in danger, and I couldn't stop thinking about what could have happened to her while I was away.
My mind was in haywire as I raced back toward the palace. I realized this was the third time I was running back to go save Arabella, and I just couldn't imagine what could have happened to her.
