Sophia stood alone in front of the window of the bedchambers, looking out over the city as the sound of the bells rang through the Citadel. She knew what the bells meant. The coronation was about to begin.
She cried silently as she watched the people moving through the streets below, many of them being forced toward the palace. A part of her wished she could escape from the manor and find a way out of the Citadel, but knowing what Ryan had turned into, she knew escaping was not a good option, especially when she had no idea where Arabella was or what had happened to her after the battle.
She couldn't just run away without being sure Arabella was safe.
Sophia wiped the tears from her face and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. She needed to think carefully before making any move because one wrong decision could put both her and Arabella in even more danger. For now, she had to play along and wait for the right opportunity.
