Elara stood at the podium as the murmurs from the people grew louder. Some had begun to boo, and the sound only made her grit her teeth harder.
She kept looking toward the entrance, waiting for Vealor to appear. The impatience on everyone's faces was obvious, and she knew she could not keep the crowd waiting forever without giving them another reason to question what was happening.
"Where the fuck is he? I'm going to kill him myself," she muttered to Seraphina, who immediately looked around to make sure no one had heard her.
Sera walked majestically toward the podium, completely composed despite the tension around them.
"You look great, Your Majesty," she said, already serenading Elara with praise.
That was enough to change Elara's mood for a moment. A smile appeared on her face.
"Where have you been, Sera? No one saw you since the battle. Don't tell me you didn't want Enzo to see that you betrayed him," Elara taunted.
Sera simply smiled.
