Chapter 71 - Chapter 71: Acquaintances

"Everyone, the palace of Princess Gale isn't far ahead now. Should we rest here for a bit first?"

After walking along the snowy path for a long time, the manager suddenly came over to Furina and Kakashi to ask.

Hearing this, Furina was originally about to just keep going, but after seeing the weary expressions on the faces of the accompanying personnel one by one, she guessed what the other party was thinking and nodded in agreement.

Although this distance was nothing to ninjas like Kakashi and her, for ordinary people it already counted as a long trek, and fatigue was inevitable.

Moreover, among them were many like-minded people the manager had gathered along the way; they were all forces he had accumulated over these years for revenge.

Now that the target of revenge was right in front of them, it was perfectly normal to want to rest well before carrying out the upcoming battle.

"I'm the same. After walking this long, it's time to take a break too."

"Thank you both for understanding."

After getting the answer he needed, the manager quickly ran to the middle of the group to announce the rest. Hearing this, the already somewhat tired group immediately stopped, and under the manager's direction, they began to rest in an orderly manner.

"From the time we came ashore until now, no one has attacked us. I don't know what will be waiting for us next."

After the manager left, Kakashi also voiced his concern. The Snow Ninjas stopping their attacks hadn't made him lower his guard; he knew this was just the calm before the storm.

The more peaceful it was now, the more violent the subsequent outburst would be.

"Haha, Kakashi-sensei, have you reached the point where you're doubting you're not the protagonist? You're a genius who became a jonin at 12 years old. Beating those few big cats and little cats of theirs would be a piece of cake.

Me, huh? Kakashi-sensei, did you hear any sound?"

Halfway through speaking, Furina suddenly turned her head toward one direction, her face showing puzzlement.

Kakashi knew Furina wouldn't speak without reason, so upon hearing this he closed his eyes to listen carefully, and a few seconds later he abruptly opened them, looking in the same direction as Furina.

"What is this!"

Under the gaze of the two, a track suddenly emerged on the snow-covered ground, and immediately a massive train sped along the track toward them.

Upon seeing this scene, not only did the accompanying group show surprise, but even Furina couldn't help but have her eyes widen slightly.

"What the heck is this situation? A train? What the hell is this? Is this still Naruto???"

While Furina was in disarray, several ninjas wearing Snow Ninja forehead protectors poked their heads out from the "train," pulling Furina back to reality.

So it turned out they were still in the Naruto world after all. It's just that you guys are developing a bit differently, huh? Outside they're playing cultivation, and you're playing technology.

Recalling the mechanical armor those few Snow Ninjas they encountered earlier were wearing, Furina felt that a train appearing was actually quite normal. At least they hadn't pulled out spaceships or anything yet; it was still acceptable.

There wasn't much time for Furina to daydream. The next to arrive on the scene was the current king of the Land of Snow, Koyuki Kazahana's uncle: Kazahana Doto!

After learning the other's identity from the manager, Furina took another look at this guy who clearly didn't look like a good person.

Kazahana Doto, huh. He looked a bit stronger than those three trash Snow Ninjas from before, but he was cowering and only showing up now; probably not much stronger.

"The one opposite is Kazahana Doto, who killed the king, and he's also the main culprit behind the current state of the Land of Snow. Everyone, please join me in exterminating this evil villain!"

Once the train approached along the track, the manager called out to everyone to charge together toward Kazahana Doto standing on the train.

"I have no interest in talking to you. Where's Koyuki? If you want revenge, she as the main figure shouldn't be absent, right?"

"Kazahana Doto, you're not worthy of seeing Princess Koyuki!"

"Heh, then I'll deal with you lot first."

After glancing at Furina and Kakashi in the distance and seeing they weren't moving, Kazahana Doto ordered to target the charging group first.

Unlike ordinary attacks, after Kazahana Doto gave the order, the train's form suddenly changed, revealing countless holes. Then, under the operation of the personnel beside it, countless kunai poured out from them, shooting toward the charging manager's group like a violent storm of pear blossoms.

"Just charging up like that, they're really not afraid of death."

Looking at the unexpectedly fierce offensive ahead, although Furina sighed that the manager's courage was impressive, her own hands didn't slow down in the slightest.

Just as the manager's group was about to perish under the countless kunai, a massive water wall suddenly rose in front of them, blocking all the incoming kunai completely.

And it didn't stop there. After the kunai stopped firing, the water wall turned into water dragons that carried the countless kunai and crashed toward the train together.

The moment of collision sent the train flying off the tracks, flipping sideways into the snow beside it. Many of the people who had just operated the machines were buried under the double damage of the water dragons and kunai, and the situation reversed completely in an instant.

"Swish" "Swish" "Swish"

From the flipped train, many figures successively darted out, with Kazahana Doto at the lead. From his gloomy expression, it was clear the previous situation had put him in a very bad mood.

Next came several Snow Ninjas including the earlier Wolf Fang, as well as a crowd of rogue ninjas wearing various forehead protectors. Those who should be here and those who shouldn't were all present; it could be called a gathering of elites.

Furina wasn't surprised by the appearance of rogue ninjas; this was within her expectations. She then scanned all the people who appeared once more. Hm, she didn't see that certain miser or the scythe-carrying idiot; that was fine.

Although Kakuzu and Hidan weren't there, Furina still spotted two familiar figures in the opposing crowd: a Kirigakure rogue ninja carrying a large sword standing behind Wolf Fang, and beside him one wearing a mask.

After seeing them, Furina didn't know whether to call Kazahana Doto's luck good or bad. Logically, not drawing Kakuzu but drawing Zabuza could still be considered a decent card; after all, he was also an elite jonin who defected from one of the Five Great Ninja Villages, with considerable strength.

But the bad luck was that the powerful helper he hired just happened to know the person he wanted to deal with. Wasn't this ruined?

Moreover, Furina could tell that the reason Kazahana Doto dared to attack now was largely because Zabuza gave him great confidence.

The other rogue ninjas couldn't exactly be ignored, but just from their aura, they were far inferior to Zabuza. This could be seen from the slightly rearward positions of the other rogue ninjas.

Closest to Kazahana Doto were the few Snow Ninjas allied with him, followed by Zabuza and Haku beside him; the rest could only stand a bit further back.
