Chapter 122 - Chapter 122: Obito: Winning Big

"It's been a while, and you seem to have gotten even stronger, Furina."

Obito didn't mind Furina's sarcastic tone. He could roughly guess her thoughts. After all, managing to recruit Mōryō without any effort this time was indeed thanks in no small part to the strong support from Furina and the others.

"No need to sound so uncertain. Since it's rare to meet, why don't I let you experience it personally? Starting with your mask."

Unlike last time, this time she had Kakashi and Guy traveling with her, plus Uchiha Hikari providing support from the side. Their side's strength far surpassed Obito's at this period.

Moreover, Kakashi had now awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan, which would restrict Obito's greatest reliance when roaming the ninja world: Kamui's intangibility.

As for other abilities like Wood Release and so on, while they couldn't be underestimated, they didn't give Obito much of an advantage. After all, whether it was herself, Kakashi, Guy, or Uchiha Hikari, none were the kind of opponents Obito could casually bully.

With the situation like this, if she still didn't act, Furina would feel she could go bash her head against a tofu block. The opportunity was right in front of her, and she didn't know to seize it.

After signaling to Kakashi, Furina stopped wasting words with Obito. She clasped her hands together, and a fierce water pillar shot out straight toward Obito's face.

As expected, the water pillar didn't hit Obito but passed straight through his head.

Furina was well aware of the opponent's ability, so she was naturally not surprised. She hadn't expected this one strike to do anything significant anyway. The important part was the coordination with the others.

Although Guy didn't fully understand the meaning behind Furina's look, since Furina had already acted, Guy naturally wouldn't slack off. He pulled out his nunchaku, flashed forward, and arrived beside Obito to coordinate the attack with Furina.

Similarly, his attacks all passed through, but it didn't matter. As long as Kakashi used Kamui to warp his own attack, then as long as Obito maintained his intangibility, he absolutely couldn't escape her attack.

Her earlier attack might have looked plain, but in reality it was a Rasengan altered in form through Water nature transformation. As long as it hit and Obito didn't use Izanagi in time to rewrite reality, even with White Zetsu's enhancement, he couldn't avoid serious injury.

"Hehe."

Imagining what would happen next, Furina had already popped the champagne in her heart. But the subsequent development didn't go as Furina had thought. Kakashi didn't use Kamui.

As a result, Obito naturally remained unscathed. After dodging the two's attacks, he quickly pulled away some distance. Although Obito didn't know there would be mutual restraint between Kamui, he also had no intention of lingering in battle.

After all, while Obito was confident he wouldn't get injured, facing four opponents whose strength was roughly on par with his own at the same time, he likewise had no means to break the deadlock.

Moreover, the objective of this trip—recruiting Mōryō—had already been accomplished, so there was no need to waste more time here. After all, the Eye of the Moon Plan still had many things that required his planning...

Watching Obito's figure gradually fade into the distance, Furina had no thoughts of pursuing. Obito clearly had no intention of fighting to the death, so after missing the earlier opportunity, it was basically impossible to keep him here.

After all, no matter how you looked at it, Kamui's survival ability was already top-tier in the ninja world. When strengths were roughly equal and the opponent was determined to leave, it really wasn't easy to stop him.
