A few days after Dan Feng and Roxy arrived in the Ranoa Kingdom, they successfully reached the magic city of Sharia.
The magic city of Sharia is located at the border of the three major magic nations—the Ranoa Kingdom, the Duchy of Neria, and the Duchy of Basherant—and falls under the jurisdiction of the Ranoa Kingdom.
The three major magic nations are allied, with the Ranoa Kingdom serving as the leader, so the magic city of Sharia acts as an important hub for exchanges among the three countries and is one of the most significant cities.
Thanks to the alliance of the three nations, this also solidified the Ranoa Kingdom's position as the world's fourth-greatest power.
Dan Feng and Roxy entered Sharia through the south gate, so what greeted their eyes was a multitude of open-air vendors and inns lining both sides of the streets.
The city design of Sharia was modeled after Millishion: at the center of the town stood the Magicians' Guild built with new-style anti-magic bricks; to the east was the student district centered around Ranoa Magic University; to the west was the workshop district centered on magic tool workshops; to the north was the commercial district centered on the Commerce Guild; and the south, where Dan Feng and Roxy currently were, was the inn district for receiving outside travelers and adventurers.
"Even in such cold weather, there are still so many people setting up stalls." Roxy walked along the street, looking at the bustling scene around her and couldn't help but sigh in admiration.
"They're all just trying to make a living. If they don't earn money, they might not even have food to eat." Dan Feng said calmly. Having lived in this world for a long time, he had long since seen clearly that no one here would generously help someone who was starving to death.
"Yeah, that's true." Roxy very much agreed with Dan Feng's view—after all, the Demon Continent was even worse in that regard than what Dan Feng described.
"Want to stroll around here for a bit? Or should we head straight to Ranoa Magic University?" Dan Feng asked for Roxy's opinion. He didn't mind either way—registration wasn't that urgent.
"Sure! I want to go to that shop over there that looks like a dessert store!" Roxy excitedly pointed at a shop not far away. On its tables were displayed all kinds of cakes and desserts that made one's mouth water.
Dan Feng followed the direction of her finger, nodded, and the two of them walked toward the dessert shop together.
The moment they stepped inside, Roxy was instantly captivated by the various delicious sweets.
She stood in front of the display table, carefully choosing the flavors she liked.
In the end, she ordered two different desserts: one Perkha pie and one sugar-heart apple pie, thinking one for Dan Feng and one for herself.
However, when the shop owner brought the desserts over, Roxy suddenly fell into a bout of choice paralysis.
She stared at the two exquisite desserts, her water-blue eyes fixed tightly on them, filled with conflicted emotion.
"Hmm, which one should I pick? Both look really good." Roxy murmured to herself, glancing back and forth between the Perkha pie and the sugar-heart apple pie, seemingly unable to decide.
Dan Feng watched Roxy's behavior from the side and couldn't help but find it a little amusing.
So he gently pushed both desserts toward Roxy and said, "You eat them. We'll still have a proper meal later anyway."
Roxy looked at Dan Feng in some surprise, clearly not expecting him to say that.
She hesitated for a moment, then cautiously asked, "You really won't eat any? Then I'm really going to eat them, okay?"
Dan Feng nodded in agreement.
Immediately after, Roxy didn't hesitate anymore. She picked up her spoon and began devouring the desserts in big mouthfuls, as if they were the most delicious things in the world.
Even Roxy herself couldn't help but wonder why she had such a particular fondness for sweets.
Could it be because of some Migurd race gene? But she had never seen her parents or other clan members eat sweets, so she had no way to confirm it.
The thought flashed through her mind, but it was quickly drowned out by the deliciousness of the desserts.
In no time at all, the two exquisite desserts were completely devoured by Roxy in a whirlwind of eating.
She contentedly licked her lips, her face showing an intoxicated expression as if still savoring the lingering sweetness left in her mouth.
"Mm, that was really delicious!" Roxy sighed in satisfaction, then gently rested her cheek on her hand, squinting her eyes as though she wanted to keep this wonderful taste in her mouth forever.
Once Roxy had snapped out of her dessert reverie, Dan Feng said, "Now that you're done eating, let's head out. We'll grab a simple lunch first, then we can go register at Ranoa Magic University."
With that, Dan Feng stood up, straightened his clothes a bit, and led Roxy out of the dessert shop together.
Afterward, they came to a restaurant that was unusually busy.
There were many people eating inside this restaurant.
Dan Feng had chosen this place because he figured that a crowded spot usually meant the food tasted good.
After eating a simple meal, they left the small restaurant.
Though the taste was passable, it still fell short compared to the egg fried rice Dan Feng cooked himself.
The restaurant's location was already close to the northern commercial district. Dan Feng had a sudden idea and turned to ask Roxy if she wanted to first check out what kinds of shops were here—so that when they came back later, they wouldn't have to search around blindly.
Roxy agreed. She had always been quite interested in magic circles and wanted to learn about them once she started school. This was a perfect chance to see if there were any stores that specialized in selling materials for magic circles.
So the two of them immediately set off together toward the northern commercial district.
The deeper they went into the commercial district, the more people there were. The liveliness here even surpassed that of the southern inn district.
Both sides of the street were lined with all sorts of stalls—some displaying rolls of scrolls, others showcasing various magic tools and mana-enchanted items.
Compared to the inn district, this area was clearly more business-oriented.
When Dan Feng and Roxy reached a weapons shop, they suddenly stopped in their tracks.
"That magic stone is huge." Roxy stared in awe at a large green magic stone hanging on the wall.
"It definitely won't be cheap." Dan Feng said calmly.
"To be honest, my staff really needs replacing. After enrollment, I'll have to head to the nearby labyrinths from time to time to hunt for magic stones." Roxy said this with a flash of determination in her eyes.
Most magic stones could only be found in labyrinths, and even then it depended on luck. There was no guarantee of finding any, and even if you did, they might be only the size of a fingernail.
"If you need help, just call me."
"Of course. If it's really dangerous, I'll call you. After all, we're still in the same adventurer party for now." Roxy said to Dan Feng.
The adventurer party they had formed earlier was still active—they had never gone to the adventurers' guild to disband it.
