Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: The Truth of the Thesis—I Have Deciphered It

"How is it, Dan Feng?" Roxy looked at Dan Feng beside her, her eyes full of curiosity.

At this moment, Dan Feng was completely focused on the Water Saint-Rank magic thesis in his hands, as if nothing in the outside world concerned him.

He had been reading with such concentration for an entire afternoon, yet he had only reached the halfway point.

One could imagine just how extraordinarily long this book was—far beyond ordinary expectations.

Dan Feng seemed fully immersed in the world of the thesis, completely unaware of any external disturbances.

Hearing Roxy's question, Dan Feng slowly shook his head, then spoke in his usual calm tone: "Normally, as long as you have the incantation, magic has a high chance of being successfully cast. However, this thesis mentions one extremely crucial point."

Dan Feng paused for a moment, seemingly thinking about how to express this point more accurately.

Roxy, unable to wait, immediately pressed: "What exactly is it?"

Dan Feng took a deep breath and continued: "The author, Jinas, mentions in the thesis using Thundercloud Accumulation to change the weather—specifically, making weather that is currently raining instantly turn clear."

Roxy's mouth fell open in shock. She stared wide-eyed, hardly able to believe it, and asked: "This Water Saint-Rank magic can even change the weather?"

Dan Feng nodded and went on to explain: "I haven't finished reading the entire thesis yet, so I'm not completely clear on all the specific details. But according to what the author Jinas says, it is indeed possible."

As he spoke, Dan Feng flipped to the relevant page and handed the thesis to Roxy.

Roxy quickly took it and looked closely. Sure enough, the description of using Thundercloud Accumulation to alter the weather was right there.

"Magic is actually quite simple—as long as you have enough mana, you can learn it. We can find a place to test it another day." Dan Feng said expressionlessly.

"Alright then, let's find some time to test it later."

...

That evening, Dan Feng borrowed the thesis written by Jinas and decided to study it thoroughly even at night.

Dan Feng returned to his room, lit the oil lamp, sat down at his chair, and quietly began turning the pages.

The dim yellow light illuminated the words as Dan Feng read with full concentration.

Finally, he reached the incantation for the Water Saint-Rank magic Thundercloud Accumulation.

O majestic water spirits, prince of the thunder emperor who ascends to the heavens! Fulfill my wish, bring forth ferocious blessings, let lowly beings witness your power! With the divine hammer strike the anvil, manifest your awe-inspiring might, let floods submerge the entire land! Ah! Rain! Wash away everything, drive out all things!

"So long… Sure enough, chantless magic is much more convenient." Dan Feng silently commented.

As long as one memorized the incantation, this magic could be cast with sufficient mana.

But if this magic could disperse thunderclouds, could his Cloud Chant Technique do the same?

Dan Feng wondered. However, the Ranoa Kingdom was still covered in ice and snow right now. He would have to wait until later—when floods occurred—before he could test it.

Every time the Ranoa Kingdom transitioned from winter to another season, it would suffer from flooding and prolonged rainfall, so they would hire specialized magicians to resolve these issues.

Although wind, earth, fire, and water—the four major magic types—were classified as attack magic, they could also be considered general-purpose magic. Just as this thesis described water being used to disperse thunderclouds, the others should likewise be capable of addressing certain extreme natural disasters.

Thinking of this, Dan Feng slowly stood up. He planned to take a bath, then sleep to recover the mental energy he had spent reading all day so he could continue tomorrow.

Before going to bed, Dan Feng glanced at his progress bar.

[45%]

"45% and still nothing important unlocked?" Dan Feng looked at the virtual panel and muttered in complaint.

Dan Feng lay down in bed, preparing to sleep, but suddenly sat bolt upright in alarm—he had just remembered he hadn't done his daily task yet today.

Without hesitation, he opened the Insight Space to claim his daily session with Dan Feng.

Dan Feng was still as cold-faced as ever—completely different from Dan Heng in the game.

But that was only natural. Dan Feng was a dragon who looked down on others through his nostrils. Because he was Imbibitor Lunae, he carried an extreme arrogance. After all, he alone had suppressed so many Dragon Masters—his every word carried an irresistible majesty.

"Now that you're here, prepare yourself." High Elder 'Dan Feng' slowly stood up, his azure pupils locked firmly on the Dan Feng before him.

I have now mastered the Cloud Chant Technique—at the very least, I can hold my own for a short time.

Dan Feng summoned Cloud-Piercer. Dragon horns sprouted from his head, a dragon tail appeared behind him, and his clothes became identical to those of High Elder 'Dan Feng' opposite him.

High Elder 'Dan Feng' intentionally showed Dan Feng his spear technique prowess—otherwise, given the vast gap in martial skill between them, Dan Feng would be instantly defeated.

Not long after, Dan Feng was beaten into unconsciousness.

After all, the two were not on the same level at all. Dan Feng could barely even touch him, and with Dan Feng's current low durability, he couldn't withstand many hits.

...

Some time after obtaining the thesis, Dan Feng finally fully understood all the information contained within it.

Meanwhile, winter in the Ranoa Kingdom had finally come to an end. The sky began to clear, and the ice and snow started to melt.

So that very day, Dan Feng went to find Roxy, who was still deeply immersed in studying magic circles.

"The truth of the thesis—I have deciphered it. Now only practice remains." Dan Feng said seriously to Roxy.

Afterward, Dan Feng brought Roxy to a place far from Sharia. It seemed that Saint-rank magic could not be released near cities—casting Saint-rank or higher magic in the vicinity might be mistaken for an act by a group threatening the kingdom.

This was the top of a mountain. From their position, they could see the bare forest below.

"Dan Feng, let's begin! I'm ready to witness the power of Water Saint-Rank magic!" Roxy said with anticipation. After all, this was Saint-rank magic—if she were still an adventurer, upper-rank would already have been the absolute peak.

Dan Feng nodded, then took a deep breath. Since he was chanting for once in a rare while, he wanted to do it perfectly.

He closed his eyes tightly and began chanting in a low voice.

As Dan Feng chanted, miraculous changes began occurring in the sky around them.

The originally clear sky was suddenly covered by a thick layer of dark clouds. Sunlight was blocked, and the surrounding environment grew dim.

With each line of Dan Feng's chant, the dark clouds in the sky increased and rapidly gathered together.

Gradually, these clouds formed a massive vortex, slowly rotating in the heavens.

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning tore through the darkened sky, followed by a deafening clap of thunder.

The lightning struck the ground not far away, instantly scorching that patch of earth and sending wisps of blue smoke rising.

As the thunder roared, torrential rain poured down in sheets.

Raindrops hammered the ground, splashing up countless ripples of water.
