In the following days, Dan Feng began wandering around the vicinity of the Red Dragon Mountains with Roxy.
Sure enough, no traces of Red Dragons were found here. They were most likely around Dragon Roar Mountain or in the Red Dragon's Lower Jaw.
So Dan Feng decisively led Roxy toward the unexplored direction of Dragon Roar Mountain.
Dragon Roar Mountain seemed to house the entrance to the Dragon God Orsted Labyrinth. Perhaps Dan Feng and Roxy could take this chance to attempt conquering one of the world's three most difficult labyrinths.
In this environment of swirling heavy snow and crisscrossing cold winds, Dan Feng walked on without the slightest change in expression, while Roxy was carried on his back.
In his Vidyadhara form, Dan Feng was impervious to severe cold and could easily generate body heat. Thus, Roxy, lying against his back, barely felt any chill—perhaps partly because Dan Feng had lightly enveloped her with Imaginary energy.
At this moment, Roxy wore a smile. She felt an overwhelming sense of happiness and security. Dan Feng's back was warm and reliable—even in such harsh conditions, he could keep walking forever.
Dan Feng, on the other hand, rather enjoyed the journey. Traveling with Roxy—if he wanted efficiency, he could simply fly over, instantly kill a Red Dragon, and bring it back. There was no need for all this trouble.
Along the way, they not only admired the beautiful snowy scenery but also took care of some monsters in passing.
Among them, edible wild boars became their main food source.
The boar meat was delicious and nutritious, providing ample energy and making their journey quite comfortable.
After several days of trekking, Dan Feng and Roxy finally reached the area where Dragon Roar Mountain was located.
Dragon Roar Mountain sat at the deepest part of the Red Dragon Mountains—this was the Red Dragons' habitat, so their numbers were considerable.
Even on the outskirts of Dragon Roar Mountain, they could see countless Red Dragons soaring in the sky or weaving between the peaks. The sight was quite spectacular.
It was even slightly more impressive than the scene at the Red Dragon's Lower Jaw.
However, Dan Feng did not immediately begin hunting Red Dragons. Instead, he decided to let Roxy first carefully observe their habits.
After all, understanding the Red Dragons' behavioral patterns was crucial for a successful subjugation. He couldn't just slaughter the entire group at once—he needed to give Roxy the courage to face a Red Dragon.
This was the second time Roxy had observed Red Dragons at such close range. The previous time had been at the Red Dragon's Lower Jaw, when Dan Feng had told her and the bard to leave first. The perilous experience of that day still lingered in her heart, instilling an indescribable fear of Red Dragons.
If not for Dan Feng, she would have died there. And if Dan Feng had not returned alive, it would have been an even more devastating blow to her.
At this moment, Roxy gripped her staff tightly, yet her hand trembled slightly despite herself.
Dan Feng keenly noticed her abnormality. Without hesitation, he reached out and firmly held her hand, as if transmitting strength and comfort.
In that instant, Roxy met Dan Feng's cyan eyes.
"Don't be afraid. I'm here." Dan Feng said softly. His words seemed to carry magic, granting Roxy immense security.
Roxy nodded, regaining her usual composure.
"In the past, facing so many Red Dragons might have been troublesome. But times have changed." Dan Feng took out the Heavy Abyss Pearl and said slowly.
"Roxy, want to try fighting a Red Dragon? Don't worry—I'll protect you."
"I'll give it a try..." Roxy mustered her courage, then slowly raised her staff, aiming at a resting Red Dragon in the distance.
That Red Dragon was alone, not moving with the herd. It lay atop the accumulated snow, the snow melting from the heat its body emitted, only to refreeze quickly due to the weather—a continuous cycle.
Roxy gathered most of her mana into the magic stone on her staff. She prepared to charge up an extremely powerful Ice Lance Blizzard.
Before long, an enormous ice cone slowly formed in front of her staff, its tip glinting with a chilling, intimidating cold light.
"Dan Feng! I'm going to attack now!" Roxy whispered, keeping her voice low as she spoke to Dan Feng beside her.
Dan Feng nodded, signaling that she could go ahead boldly—he would guard her from behind.
With Dan Feng's reassurance, Roxy took a deep breath, focused her mind, and continuously poured mana from her body into the staff.
As the mana accumulated, the massive ice cone began to tremble slightly, radiating waves of frigid air.
Finally, when Roxy felt the mana was sufficient, she let out a soft shout. With a fierce swing of her staff, the ice cone shot forward like an arrow loosed from a bow, hurtling toward the Red Dragon at astonishing speed.
Though enormous, the ice cone lost none of its velocity—like a high-speed bullet, it flew straight toward the Red Dragon's wing.
Since the Red Dragon's wings lacked thick scale protection and were relatively vulnerable, the ice cone easily pierced through.
Suddenly struck hard, the Red Dragon was jolted awake from its rest by the intense pain.
It let out a furious roar that echoed through the skies, clearly enraged by the unexpected attack.
With its wing injured, the Red Dragon could no longer fly. It could only remain in place, roaring continuously.
Its massive dragon eyes scanned the surroundings and soon spotted Dan Feng and Roxy hidden in the snow-covered grass.
"Dan Feng, it's spotted us!" Roxy instinctively panicked—after all, this was a legendary monster. Panicking was only natural.
"No need to worry." Dan Feng said calmly. Then the Heavy Abyss Pearl flew toward the Red Dragon's head.
He didn't want to use Imaginary energy to obliterate the Red Dragon into nothing.
The Red Dragon felt no great threat, nor did it sense the dragon aura emanating from Dan Feng. Its eyes carried disdain as it watched the black-and-white pearl flying toward it.
Just as it prepared to gather dragon breath, the Heavy Abyss Pearl erupted with blinding golden light.
In the next instant, the Heavy Abyss Pearl summoned torrents of flowing water that, in the blink of an eye, transformed into several long spears made of water.
In a single moment, they pierced straight through the Red Dragon's head.
The massive body of the Red Dragon immediately collapsed to the ground, sending all the surrounding snow flying in an instant.
However, no blood flowed from the Red Dragon—because the water spears had turned to ice upon piercing, sealing the wounds.
"Dan Feng, you're amazing!" Roxy stared at the Red Dragon in wonder, then looked at Dan Feng with eyes full of admiration.
Her man could effortlessly kill a legendary creature—that was the thought filling Roxy's mind at this moment.
Hearing Roxy's praise, the corners of Dan Feng's mouth inevitably rose a little, though his expression remained outwardly calm and unruffled.
"Let's break this Red Dragon down first. Can you fit it in your scroll?" Dan Feng asked Roxy.
"It should be possible, right? The one the former principal gave me has quite a large space. As long as we break it down, it should fit." Roxy said thoughtfully.
