Chapter 115: First Glimpse of the Dragon God Labyrinth
Cloud-Piercer could effortlessly slice through a Red Dragon's flesh, and it did so cleanly and neatly.
Thus, Cloud-Piercer became the perfect tool for butchering a Red Dragon.
Roxy held a bucket to collect the Red Dragon's blood, while the rest of the parts were flash-frozen by Dan Feng using ice magic. After all, a Red Dragon was a treasure from head to tail—every piece was worth a fortune in glittering gold coins.
Afterward, the disassembled parts were separated into bags. Finally, Roxy took out her scroll and began placing them inside one by one.
However, Roxy had somewhat overestimated the storage capacity of her scroll—there was still one large bag that wouldn't fit.
"Forget it, Roxy. I'll carry this bag." Dan Feng spoke up to stop Roxy as she tried to force the bag in.
Hearing this, Roxy glanced at the bag in front of her, then at the scroll that clearly couldn't hold any more. With no choice, she helplessly handed the bag to Dan Feng.
Dan Feng took the bag and gave it a casual flick. The bag containing parts of the Red Dragon's body vanished instantly from Roxy's sight.
Roxy looked up at the bag now floating in midair and froze for a moment.
"Why is the bag floating?" Roxy's surprised voice rang out.
"I just lifted it with flowing water." Dan Feng replied calmly to Roxy's astonished gaze.
"So amazing! Dan Feng, how do you have so many incredible abilities?" Roxy marveled at the powers Dan Feng possessed. She had already witnessed quite a few: flight, chantless magic, super-powerful water magic, and more.
"Just basic racial abilities." Dan Feng shook his head, indicating these weren't worth mentioning.
"Why would such a powerful race go extinct?" This was a question Roxy couldn't figure out the answer to.
"Let's go. We'll head deeper in and take a look at the legendary Dragon God Labyrinth." Dan Feng said to Roxy, then led her further into the mountains.
Although there were many Red Dragons here, Dan Feng no longer wanted to hunt them—it was inconvenient.
Besides, if he ever ran short on money later, he could come back and hunt a few. If he hunted them wantonly now, their value would surely drop significantly.
Dan Feng understood well the principle that scarcity increases value, so he regarded this place as his personal reserve hidden resource.
At this moment, to avoid unnecessary hunting, Dan Feng used Cloud Chant to conceal both his and Roxy's presence.
This prevented the Red Dragons from seeing or sensing them, allowing the two to proceed more smoothly toward the depths where the Dragon God Labyrinth lay.
Along the way, even when Red Dragons passed right beside them, the pair walked by as if nothing was amiss. This puzzled Roxy.
"Huh? Why aren't these Red Dragons attacking us anymore?" Roxy gripped her staff, looking curiously at the Red Dragons prowling nearby.
"I used some special techniques and methods to make them unable to detect our presence." Dan Feng explained. His voice was very calm, but as he spoke, he slowly came to a stop.
Dan Feng gazed at the towering spiritual mountain before him, a trace of awe flashing in his eyes. Then he turned to Roxy beside him and said, "We're here. This is Dragon Roar Mountain."
Roxy didn't press Dan Feng further about his ability to hide their presence. After all, she had grown accustomed to the various miraculous abilities he had displayed.
She simply stood quietly, also gazing at the majestic peak, silently marveling in her heart at the wonders of nature's craftsmanship.
According to legend, the entrance to the Dragon God Labyrinth was at the foot of Dragon Roar Mountain. However, when they looked carefully, they found no obvious signs of an entrance.
"Perhaps the Dragon God Labyrinth isn't in the direction we're facing now," Dan Feng said thoughtfully. "Let's walk forward a bit. It might be at the foot of the mountain in another direction."
With that, Dan Feng unhesitatingly took Roxy's hand and headed toward another side of Dragon Roar Mountain's base.
Roxy followed without the slightest hesitation, keeping close to Dan Feng's pace.
Sure enough, when they circled to the side of the mountain, a massive, pitch-black opening suddenly appeared before them.
The opening was like the gaping maw of a giant beast, devouring everything around it.
From within the hole came bursts of extremely cold, howling gales. The wind roared as if evil spirits from hell were shrieking.
Mixed in with the gales were occasional roars of unknown monsters—sharp and piercing, sending chills down the spine.
For some reason, standing before this pitch-black opening made Roxy's legs go weak. She couldn't stop trembling, as if something inside instilled a primal, bloodline-level fear in her.
Seeing this, Dan Feng summoned a Light Spirit and prepared to send it in to scout the way first.
The spirit seemed to share an understanding with Dan Feng. Upon receiving the command, it flew straight into the pitch-black hole like a bolt of lightning without any hesitation.
As the spirit entered, the light from Dan Feng's hand followed closely inside.
Under the faint illumination, the originally pitch-black hole gradually revealed its true appearance.
The walls of blackish-purple rock were covered in countless tiny holes, dense like an ant nest.
At that moment, the Light Spirit that had just shone on the wall was suddenly yanked violently by something. Without warning, its connection to Dan Feng was severed instantly.
The white light vanished in the blink of an eye, and the entire Dragon God Labyrinth was once again shrouded in darkness, as if nothing had happened.
Dan Feng and Roxy watched helplessly as the Light Spirit disappeared right before their eyes. Both were so shocked they couldn't speak, staring at each other in stunned silence.
After a long while, Roxy finally came back to her senses. Her voice carried obvious fear as she asked softly, "Are we still going in?"
Though she felt some fear in her heart, Roxy decided to respect Dan Feng's opinion.
If Dan Feng insisted on entering, she would have no choice but to steel herself and follow him into this legendary Dragon God Labyrinth, regardless of the danger to herself.
Dan Feng shook his head at this. "No, we're not going in."
Though he possessed immense strength, if something unexpected happened to Roxy inside—if she met with any mishap—it would be bad. So he wouldn't enter this time. Another day, he could come alone to try conquering it.
Hearing that Dan Feng wasn't going in, Roxy let out a small sigh of relief. She didn't want Dan Feng entering such a dangerous-looking labyrinth.
"Then Dan Feng, let's head to the Adventurers' Guild to submit the request first. We'll set the location as Roa. That way, we can stop by and visit Bloody Kant-sensei on the way." Roxy said to Dan Feng. She took his warm hand, preparing to leave with him—when suddenly, it seemed she caught sight of something utterly terrifying.
Her lips parted as if to say something, but no words came out.
