Chapter 149 - Chapter 149: Visiting Mayibeia’s Family on Her Behalf

"These people are still breathing!"

The magicians were just about to burn the "dead" adventurers' corpses when one of them checked someone's breathing and discovered they were still alive. He shouted in surprise.

"What? They fought a Superd and still survived?" Everyone was equally astonished. They quickly began checking breaths themselves and ultimately found that not a single person had died at the hands of the Superd.

"It's unbelievable. Could that Superd really not have gone for the kill?" one muttered to himself.

"That's impossible. Superd aren't that kind. They probably just didn't have the chance to finish them off because our magic was too dense," a man with arrogance written all over his face said proudly.

Afterward, they cast healing magic on the unconscious adventurers.

Their healing magic was mostly beginner-level, with the highest only at intermediate. But on the resource-scarce Demon Continent, this was common—when even basic survival wasn't guaranteed, how could one afford advanced magic?

Under the healing magic of this group of magicians, the adventurers slowly regained consciousness.

The first thing they did upon waking was warily scan their surroundings—their minds were still stuck on the battle against the Superd.

When they learned that the Superd who had knocked them all out had been driven away by this group of magicians, their faces were filled with disbelief.

But since they were indeed alive, they had no choice but to believe that these ordinary magicians had truly repelled a Superd.

Not long after, the crowd gradually dispersed. This small-scale battle against the Superd came to an end, and the demons who participated would become after-dinner gossip stories in Rikarisu Town.

Meanwhile, Dan Feng and Roxy had personally witnessed this fight in which the Superd hadn't even used his full strength.

Dan Feng could clearly see that the Superd hadn't unleashed his true power at all. When he fled, the battle aura leaking from his body had already reached the threshold of Emperor-level.

"You were right, Dan Feng. That Superd didn't kill any of those adventurers," Roxy said in surprise. In her understanding, the Superd race wasn't like this at all, so she was genuinely shocked.

It was like when you were a child and watched Sadako, only to suddenly discover she's actually a JK white-stockinged little loli—the contrast was too great.

"Since it's over, let's head into the city first. The Superd matter has nothing to do with us," Dan Feng said slowly. He then took Roxy's hand and walked toward Rikarisu Town.

Along the way, the ground was full of craters caused by attack magic. The magicians didn't bother cleaning them up—what if a carriage suddenly came through and flipped over?

Wait, the Demon Continent didn't really have horses anyway.

Because Roxy was a demon and they had S-rank adventurer cards, Dan Feng and Roxy smoothly entered Rikarisu Town.

The houses here were somewhat more dilapidated compared to those in Millishion, but the layout of the town streets was quite similar. There were also riding lizards at the city gate.

Upon arriving in this familiar place, Roxy immediately pulled Dan Feng along the streets, wanting to show him every spot she still remembered.

She was extremely familiar with the environment here—it wouldn't be an exaggeration to call it her second Migurd village. After all, back when she was a low-rank adventurer, she had taken requests all over Rikarisu Town.

Then Roxy brought Dan Feng to the inn where she used to stay frequently, and the two successfully checked in.

Worth mentioning: thanks to Roxy's height, face, and that striking hair color, the inn's landlady had deeply remembered her.

So she chatted with Roxy for a while, asking where she had been all these years, how she was doing, and so on.

When she heard the news of Drew's death, her expression dimmed slightly, but she hid it well and continued chatting happily with Roxy.

After they finished catching up, they finally remembered the real reason they had come here.

One was to visit Mayibeia's family on her behalf, and the other was to find Nokubara and ask about the situation.

So they decided to first head to the clothing store run by Mayibeia's tribespeople to explain Mayibeia's current situation.

"Sheep's Hoof Inn—that's the name of the clothing store. I still remember the way. Let's go," Roxy said after thinking for a moment. She took Dan Feng's hand and walked out of the inn.

Along the way, they saw all sorts of demons: snake-headed human bodies, fully furred lion-people, and lizard-people very similar to the riding lizards.

In Rikarisu Town, you could see them all, because the town was located not far from many demon tribes—most could be reached in just half a day or a full day's travel.

Soon, Dan Feng and Roxy stood in front of a shop whose style seriously clashed with the surroundings.

The shop actually used floor-to-ceiling windows, looking much more fashionable. The signboard bore the elegant words "Sheep's Hoof Inn" in four large characters, along with a pattern of spiraled ram horns engraved on it.

"This is the place," Roxy said as she looked at Dan Feng, then pulled him inside.

Upon entering, a few crisp wind-chime sounds rang out, followed by pleasant voices coming from not far away.

"Welcome to Sheep's Hoof Inn! May we ask what the two adventurers need?" A demon woman with a teasing tone smiled brightly at Dan Feng and Roxy.

"I think I know why Mayibeia usually talks like that," Roxy said, shaking her head. Mayibeia's tone was extremely similar to the voice they had just heard.

Dan Feng nodded and began observing the several demons of the same race as Mayibeia inside the shop.

They all had similar spiraled ram horns and golden hair—only their faces were different. No doubt, they were Mayibeia's tribespeople.

"Hello, we are friends of Mayibeia. She asked us to come here and explain her current situation to you," Dan Feng said calmly, his tone showing no fluctuation.

"Mayibeia!?" The moment they heard those four words, the demons in the shop all showed expressions of disbelief. Then several of them quickly ran over to Dan Feng and Roxy.

They anxiously asked Dan Feng and Roxy in unison, their voices perfectly synchronized: "How is Mayibeia doing now? Is she doing well out there all alone?"

From their appearance, it was clear they cared deeply about Mayibeia.

After all, according to Mayibeia herself, she had run away alone without telling anyone in the tribe, so their panic was understandable.

Immediately after, Dan Feng and Roxy began recounting Mayibeia's current situation, telling the people of Sheep's Hoof Inn everything about how she had found true love, gotten married, and was now pregnant.
