Chapter 148 - Chapter 148: The Superd Race

The Superd sighed helplessly. In truth, his race was not as brutal as the rumors claimed—they had fallen victim to the Demon God's scheme.

When the Demon God Laplace unified the demon races, the Superd race—thanks to the scouting ability of the red gem on their foreheads and their formidable combat strength—became Laplace's most capable subordinates.

Thus, the Demon God Laplace bestowed upon the Superd race the Demon Spear. To show their loyalty, the Superd abandoned the spears made from their own hardened tails and switched to using this demonic spear.

However, this demonic spear would devour the consciousness of its wielder. The more blood it absorbed, the more the Superd would gradually lose their reason, eventually leading to indiscriminate frenzied slaughter that turned them into public enemies of both humans and demons.

This was why the Superd race was feared by others.

But he knew that no matter what he said now, he couldn't change the world's fear of the Superd race. The name had spread too far—even the northern part of the Central Continent knew of the Superd race by name.

He genuinely wanted to change the world's misunderstanding, but wherever he went, people would fear him and raise weapons to drive him away.

So he prepared to turn and leave this place, continuing on to somewhere else.

The moment he moved slightly, someone in the crowd shouted loudly: "Quick, attack! He's about to charge over!"

One stone stirred a thousand ripples. The news that the Superd was about to charge instantly reached the many adventurers. Magicians in the crowd were the first to raise their staffs and begin rapidly chanting magic.

In an instant, multicolored magic spells surged from the city gate of Rikarisu Town toward the Superd who was preparing to leave.

Sensing danger, the Superd's figure moved instantly. The trident-like weapon in his right hand danced rapidly.

For a moment, all the magical attacks were blocked by the trident, which remained completely unscathed and still shone brilliantly—this was the spear transformed from the Superd race's own tail.

Only now, he was using his son's spear.

Seeing this, the adventurers of Rikarisu Town once again confirmed that the Superd was indeed attacking them.

The sword-wielding adventurers gritted their teeth against their fear of the Superd and charged forward recklessly, as if making a life-or-death decision.

The magicians behind them continued to expend mana, likely until their mana was completely depleted.

Seeing this, the Superd decisively charged toward the group of swordsmen. He didn't want to kill them—he only wanted to knock them all unconscious, to the point where they posed no threat to him.

He wanted to change the world's view of the Superd race. This was undoubtedly an arduous task—more accurately described as practically impossible.

From afar, Dan Feng and Roxy watched with some confusion until Roxy noticed that the person being attacked by the crowd had green hair. Then she finally understood why they were attacking him.

"Dan Feng! That's a Superd!" After realizing who was standing there, Roxy instantly got goosebumps. Like everyone else, she had grown up hearing terrifying stories about the Superd race and was deeply afraid of them.

Just mentioning the Superd race would make her hair stand on end—she would instinctively feel fear. That was the reputation of the Superd race.

After Roxy said the person was a Superd, Dan Feng also recalled the stories about the Superd race from the books. Indeed, that was why everyone feared him.

While Dan Feng was still thinking, a large cluster of fireballs suddenly flew toward him and Roxy.

They were fireballs aimed at the Superd, but since some people were standing farther back, they simply launched them into the sky.

Dan Feng sensed the mana fluctuation and instantly cast a Cloud Chant spell to block all the fireballs.

When his gaze returned to the battlefield, many people were already lying densely on the ground. The Superd was swinging his trident, trying his best to knock them out lightly.

Whenever a swordsman approached him again, they would follow the same fate and fall asleep in the desert alongside the others.

The magicians at the city gate grew even more terrified upon seeing this. They felt that once these swordsmen died, it would be their turn next. Not wanting to die, they unleashed magic even more desperately—some even used magic circles obtained from labyrinths.

Large-scale magic once again swept toward the battling Superd.

Yet astonishingly, the Superd used his trident to help shield the unconscious people on the ground from the damage.

Dan Feng and Roxy observed the Superd's behavior, growing even more puzzled.

"Why is he helping his enemies block magical damage? Aren't those people dead?" Roxy asked in confusion.

In her impression, the Superd race were the epitome of brutality—man-eaters. Was he protecting his own food supply?

"Roxy, I'm afraid things aren't as you think. That Superd's actions seem to come from the heart," Dan Feng said slowly. He could see that the adventurers lying on the ground were not dead.

This meant the Superd had no intention of killing them, which contradicted the frenzied slaughter described in the books.

"Ah? Dan Feng, are you saying this Superd is a good person?"

"We can't conclude yet. We'll have to see what he does next. If he charges toward that group of magicians, then I'm overthinking it. If he runs away directly, then my guess is correct," Dan Feng said calmly while watching the battlefield.

...

"Everyone, keep pushing! He's about to break through!" Such words kept ringing out from the crowd, spurring the magicians to release magic even more frantically and creating more trouble for the Superd.

At this moment, the Superd was panting heavily. His trident was practically smoking from how fast he swung it, but he had finally blocked all the attacking magic.

His clothes had been burned ragged by flames, and several spots on his body were injured, yet he could still quickly block incoming attacks—thanks to the red gem on his forehead.

Seeing that the magicians still wanted to cast more magic, the Superd decisively ran toward the rear.

He understood in his heart that as long as he ran fast enough, the attacks wouldn't affect the group of adventurers he had knocked unconscious.

"The Superd is running away! We won!" The magicians exclaimed joyfully, showing relieved smiles after surviving the ordeal. Driving away a Superd was something they could brag about for a lifetime.

Just as they prepared to enter the city, they suddenly remembered there was still a large group of bodies outside, so they decided to go out and burn the corpses first.
