Chapter 158 - Chapter 158: Blessings

"Excuse the intrusion," Dan Feng said softly as he entered the house. This was basic courtesy and absolutely could not be omitted—otherwise it would make him seem very impolite.

Upon entering, Dan Feng was immediately drawn in by the scene inside.

The interior of the house was far more spacious than its exterior suggested—almost as large as an abandoned warehouse at Ranoa Magic University.

The floor was covered with a thick layer of fur from some unknown magic beast—soft and cushioned underfoot.

Colorful tapestries hung on the walls, embroidered with various vivid patterns that filled the entire room with a warm feeling.

In the very center of the room burned a roaring bonfire, occasionally crackling and popping.

It seemed they relied entirely on this bonfire for cooking, as simple utensils such as an iron pot were placed beside it.

Looking around, Dan Feng noticed there were no other rooms—meaning they likely slept directly on the fur pelts on the ground.

Thinking of this, Dan Feng couldn't help feeling curious about their way of life—after all, Bloody Kant hadn't described it in detail.

"Please sit," Rokari and Rowin said with smiles as they greeted Dan Feng and Roxy, gesturing for them to sit together.

Dan Feng sat down somewhat reservedly and slowly, while Roxy was completely different—she plopped down on the ground without hesitation, hugged her knees, and looked perfectly at ease.

"So, let's start with Roxy. In these more than ten years, where exactly have you been? Your mother and I are both very curious," Rowin spoke first, asking Roxy.

His voice was gentle, without the slightest hint of blame or interrogation—only interest in Roxy's journey.

"Yes, I'm especially curious too!" Rokari quickly chimed in. Her water-blue eyes—almost identical to Roxy's—sparkled with curiosity. She was equally eager to hear Roxy's story.

"Alright, actually I was just planning to tell you anyway," Roxy said calmly.

Then she slowly began recounting the important events she had experienced over these decades.

Dan Feng sat to the side, quietly listening with his ears perked up.

Although he had some general knowledge of Roxy's past experiences, he didn't know many details.

He had been worried that suddenly asking about something painful might upset her, so he had never probed deeply.

Now, hearing Roxy recount her experiences in such detail was a first for him.

Afterward, Roxy began telling the story of her adventures and travels.

Rowin and Rokari listened intently. Serious expressions appeared on their faces as they focused on every word Roxy spoke.

This family—even their serious expressions were so similar, as if carved from the same mold.

Whenever Roxy spoke of danger, the two instantly grew solemn, worry evident in their eyes.

But when she spoke of good things, they smiled warmly, the atmosphere filled with tenderness and harmony.

In fact, when Roxy was little, her relationship with them had been this close and intimate.

Back then, they told her stories, played with her—there had been no distance between them.

However, as time passed, Roxy gradually discovered how different she was from the other tribespeople.

This difference made her feel lonely and confused. Slowly, she became quiet and withdrawn, her personality grew cold, and her way of speaking became extremely blunt.

Even so, the current family atmosphere was very good—filled with warmth.

Roxy began from the time she ran away from home, recounting all the various experiences along the way: the difficulties and setbacks she encountered, the growth and friendships she gained, and even her romance.

She described in detail how she survived in unfamiliar environments and overcame her inner fears.

When she mentioned that she and Dan Feng had already bought a house in Millishion, her eyes sparkled with anticipation for the future.

Aside from matters concerning the Dragon God and Hitogami, Roxy had told them almost everything.

After listening to her story, Rokari couldn't help sighing, "I see… Roxy, you really went through so much hardship along the way." Her voice was filled with heartache for her daughter.

Then Rokari turned to Dan Feng, gratitude shining in her eyes as she said, "Dan Feng, thank you. If it weren't for your companionship, Roxy might still be walking alone in loneliness. It was you who brought warmth to this child and helped her rediscover the person she used to be."

"Auntie, this is what I should do. Whether as a friend at the beginning or as her lover now, I will always help Roxy," Dan Feng said seriously.

Rowin listened quietly to everyone's conversation, seemingly deep in thought.

Not long after, he finally broke the silence and slowly spoke: "Roxy, no matter what, congratulations. Seeing you so happy now truly makes me feel very relieved." Though his tone was calm, the blessings it contained came straight from the heart.

He would not oppose Roxy's feelings for Dan Feng. From what Roxy had said earlier, he could clearly sense that Dan Feng was an outstanding and reliable man.

Not only was his strength exceptional, but his personality was gentle—undoubtedly an excellent choice as a son-in-law.

"Thank you, Dad," Roxy said. Hearing Rowin's words, her eyes grew moist once again.

However, they still weren't married yet.

At that moment, Rokari interjected curiously, "By the way, you two aren't married yet, right?"

Roxy and Dan Feng exchanged a glance, then shook their heads together.

Roxy quickly explained, "The wedding will take some time. After all, we still have some important matters to take care of. But it's only a matter of time—we'll definitely get married eventually."

Hearing this, Rokari immediately asked, "Oh? There are still important matters? Then can you stay here for a few more nights?" Expectation shone in her eyes.

Roxy thought for a moment and answered, "Staying one night is no problem, but we have to leave tomorrow."

"I see," Rokari said, clearly showing disappointment.

"Then Roxy, once you and Dan Feng are married, you must fulfill your duties as a wife. You can't go back to how you were as a child, okay?"

"I know, Mom. I understand my shortcomings. But I believe I can fulfill a wife's duties from now on," Roxy said seriously.

Getting married and having children was something she had always dreamed of. Just as she had said about her criteria for a partner—even if Dan Feng wanted her to stay at home forever, she wouldn't refuse.

Of course, Dan Feng would never do that—he respected Roxy very much.
