Chapter 159 - Chapter 159: Depicting Dan Feng

At night, Dan Feng sat on the ground beside the bonfire and finally tasted the food of the Migurd race.

However, with Roxy's parents present, he had to maintain an expressionless face while laboriously finishing the bowl of soup made from Great King Land Turtle meat mixed with some unknown plant.

The taste of this bowl of soup was simply indescribable in words.

It had no seasonings whatsoever—just plain water, meat, and plants. Swallowing it made one want to vomit.

Dan Feng endured the nausea, forcing down one mouthful after another while inwardly exclaiming: This taste is truly awful!

He finally understood why Roxy could remain so calm while eating Great King Land Turtle meat—she had long developed immunity to this flavor.

Watching Dan Feng force himself to finish it, Roxy couldn't help covering her mouth and letting out a soft laugh.

Roxy's laughter gently reached Dan Feng's ears.

Dan Feng looked at Roxy with a puzzled expression, as if to say: "This stuff is really hard to eat!"

Actually, if this bowl of soup had even a little seasoning, the taste might have been much better.

But this was the northernmost end of the Demon Continent—resources were scarce. Having any food at all was already fortunate, let alone seasonings.

Originally, Dan Feng had asked Roxy whether her storage scroll still contained any seasonings.

However, Roxy had gently shaken her head with a regretful look, explaining that those seasonings had long since been taken by the landlady to use in cooking.

Faced with this situation, Dan Feng felt completely helpless. With no other choice, he could only grit his teeth and taste this unseasoned meal.

After eating their fill, Dan Feng and Roxy decided to take advantage of the night to stroll around the Migurd village.

Under the smiling gazes of Rowin and Rokari, Roxy and Dan Feng stepped out of the house together and walked into the night.

At this moment, the Migurd village was dimly lit along the paths. Only the faint glow from the bonfires inside the houses barely illuminated the surroundings.

Dan Feng and Roxy had no choice but to take out the Spirit of Light they had used in the labyrinth from their storage scroll. Relying on its light, they slowly walked in one direction.

Roxy held Dan Feng's hand and led him to the area where the Migurd children used to play.

Here, it seemed, was hidden a certain secret from Roxy's childhood.

When they finally reached the cluster of stone pillars, curiosity rose in Dan Feng's heart.

This was the place where the Migurd children gathered to play during the day.

Under Dan Feng's puzzled gaze, Roxy unhesitatingly pulled him over to the thickest stone pillar.

"Dan Feng, this was my secret base when I was little! Whenever I realized I wasn't quite the same as the other tribespeople, I would come here alone every day and just sit quietly, lost in thought," Roxy said softly.

She slowly crouched down, her gaze falling on the slightly rough drawing in front of her.

It was a picture outlined with simple lines—somewhat crooked, yet full of childlike charm.

The drawing showed three people: two adults surrounding a small child in the middle, all three with bright smiles on their faces.

"This is something I drew when I was little," Roxy explained with a smile. "This is Dad, this is Mom, and the little one in the middle is me." As she spoke, she gently picked up a nearby stone, preparing to add something new to the drawing.

Dan Feng stood quietly to the side, watching Roxy's every move.

He saw her carefully use the stone to carve a figure slightly taller than the other three. Though the lines were still somewhat childish, they carried a sense of aloofness.

When Roxy finished the final stroke, Dan Feng suddenly understood what she was doing.

What she was carving was none other than himself in the present.

"Is Roxy drawing me?" Dan Feng asked curiously as he crouched down beside her, watching the stone in her hand while she focused intently on carving something into the pillar.

Compared to the style of little Roxy's drawing, her current work was clearly more mature—the lines smoother, the details richer.

However, to keep it consistent with the family, Roxy still followed the childish style from back then.

Dan Feng couldn't help but sigh inwardly: though years had passed, some things remained unchanged.

This stone pillar showed clear signs of long years of weathering, yet the drawings on it had never been altered.

"Yes, when I was little I planned to carve our whole family here. Now the only one missing was you," Roxy said softly. This decision had been brewing in her heart for a long time.

During this visit to the Demon Continent, she had wanted to do it together with seeing her parents.

She slowly set the stone down. Dan Feng's gaze immediately fell upon the pillar.

The depiction of Dan Feng was somewhat abstract in style.

But holding a long spear, he still looked somewhat handsome. Floating beside him was a round orb—clearly the Heavy Abyss Pearl that Dan Feng used.

It complemented the images of the other three perfectly, making the entire drawing harmonious and pleasing to the eye.

"There—we've finally added Dan Feng to this drawing," Roxy said with satisfaction as she looked at her work, a smile curling at the corners of her mouth.

Now that this wish had finally been fulfilled, her heart was naturally filled with joy.

This "Roxy's Family" had at last been completed in full by the grown-up Roxy!

When she was little, Roxy had imagined her future partner countless times. But because of her inner inferiority, she had never dared to depict the person she pictured in her mind.

Now, however, she was no longer that little girl who felt different from everyone else.

The current Roxy had Dan Feng, and her heart was always filled with confidence.

She could now draw him without any hesitation—because they were already lovers, and in the near future, they would truly become one family.

This change in status filled Roxy with immense happiness and peace of mind. She would never again feel the inferiority she once did.

When Dan Feng saw this drawing, a faint smile also appeared on his face.

From any angle, he could feel how deep Roxy's love for him truly was—this was the most precious gift he had received in this other world.

And besides Roxy's love, what was equally important to him was the system.

Without the system, he might have already died when he was first chased by that brown lion.

After gaining Imaginary Energy, he had come to understand that the power covering the wooden stick back then had been a trace of Imaginary Energy granted by the system.

"Let's go—let's walk around some more. It's still early before bedtime. I'll take you to one more place," Roxy said as she took Dan Feng's hand again and headed toward the right side of the village.
