Chapter 160 - Chapter 160: Ruijerd’s Experience

Along the way, Dan Feng and Roxy chatted as they followed the light of the Spirit of Light, becoming the brightest glow in the village's night.

Soon after, they encountered an unexpected person.

It was the Superd—Ruijerd Superdia.

He was currently lying quietly on a flat rock, eyes peacefully closed. His trident-like weapon rested beside him on the stone.

When the bright Spirit of Light slowly approached him, he remained completely motionless.

Dan Feng immediately noticed the red gem on Ruijerd's forehead glinting scarlet under the Spirit of Light's glow—so he instantly knew who was lying on the rock.

"Hm? Ruijerd?" Dan Feng asked in confusion, the question slipping out unconsciously.

He really couldn't understand—logically speaking, Ruijerd should be at the village chief's house right now. Why had he suddenly appeared here?

In truth, Ruijerd had long sensed Dan Feng and Roxy slowly approaching.

The red gem on his forehead emitted a faint light, taking in the surrounding situation. Yet he had not spoken first, choosing instead to wait quietly.

Only when Dan Feng finally couldn't hold back and spoke did Ruijerd slowly open his eyes, his gaze falling on the two of them.

His voice was low and calm, without the slightest ripple: "Yes, you two are Dan Feng and Roxy, correct? There's something I'd like to ask you about."

Hearing this, Roxy also showed a puzzled expression.

They had essentially no connection with Ruijerd—she couldn't imagine what he might want to ask them.

So she asked in confusion, "What is it?"

Ruijerd fell silent for a moment, seemingly choosing his words carefully.

Finally, he spoke: "It's about my tribespeople." As soon as the words left his mouth, a trace of barely concealed sorrow appeared in his tone.

As everyone knew, the reputation of the Superd race was utterly terrible.

People often used them as scary bedtime stories to frighten children—how could such a reputation possibly be good?

Ruijerd looked gravely at the two before him and slowly continued: "The Superd race is not as evil and terrifying as you imagine. All of this is the scheme of the Demon God Laplace."

He took a deep breath and went on: "At that time, the Superd race served under Laplace. The eye on our foreheads allowed us to clearly perceive our surroundings even in darkness, making us especially skilled at night raids."

Its function was similar to radar from Dan Feng's previous world—a highly practical innate ability.

Unfortunately, Laplace bestowed upon the Superd race demonic spears.

These demonic spears were not only immensely powerful but also gradually eroded the sanity of the Superd wielders, causing them to lose their reason and become terrifying beings driven solely by slaughter.

"All Superd warriors were forced to switch to these demonic spears. That is why our race attacked others indiscriminately," Ruijerd said, his voice filled with sorrow.

"We could no longer control our own actions and had completely become tools of the Demon God Laplace."

When Ruijerd—his mind already eroded by the demonic spear—led a group of Superd warriors back to their own tribe, it was not a joyful family reunion but a scene of bloody slaughter.

"Our sanity had been completely devoured by the demonic spears. At that time, we believed that any living creature should be killed without exception," Ruijerd said, pain flashing in his eyes.

"So we launched a brutal massacre against our own tribe. The scene… was simply too horrific to describe."

Thus, Ruijerd killed his own parents, killed his wife, killed his sisters, and finally used the demonic spear granted by Laplace to pierce his own child.

His child had undergone training as a Superd warrior. Before dying, Ruijerd's child broke the demonic spear bestowed by Laplace—this act restored Ruijerd's sanity.

When he saw the surrounding scene and his son lying in a pool of blood, despair filled his heart.

What was even more despairing was that there was a hard object in his mouth. When he spat it out, he discovered it was his own son's finger.

In that instant, he understood that everything had been Laplace's scheme. He thought of suicide, but compared to such a meaningless death, he still had something important to do.

He had to kill the Demon God Laplace!

Afterward, he went on to break the demonic spears of the other Superd warriors one by one, restoring their sanity.

The expressions and emotions on their faces when they awoke were exactly the same as Ruijerd's had been moments earlier.

And there were only about a dozen of them left. Without the demonic spears, they were at most somewhat strong warriors.

Later, Ruijerd picked up his son's spear. In a half-dead state, he escaped from the encirclement of demons.

As for the other warriors, they had probably all perished.

Ruijerd lurked for many years, intervening in the battle that killed the three Demon God Heroes and the Demon God Laplace, finally taking his revenge.

Afterward, Ruijerd helped humans fight against Laplace's remaining demon subordinates—his methods even more brutal than when he had wielded the demonic spear, because he was filled with rage.

And because of him, the negative rumors about the Superd race grew even more intense.

That was how the Superd race came to be known through terrifying stories.

So he desperately wanted to erase the negative reputation of the Superd race in the world, but because he was a Superd himself, the moment he approached any city, adventurers would drive him away.

He only wanted to find the remaining members of his tribe. Though he didn't know if they had all died, he wanted to keep searching forever.

"So, I wanted to ask—have the two of you seen any Superd like me on other continents? Since I heard you came back from other continents," Ruijerd asked sincerely.

He was truly in desperate need of any information about the Superd race. Because he was a Superd, he couldn't board ships and couldn't leave the Demon Continent.

So he had fixed his hopes on Dan Feng and Roxy, hoping to get news of his tribespeople from them.

But after hearing the entire story, Dan Feng and Roxy simply shook their heads.

"Listening to what your tribe went through… it's all very tragic. But unfortunately, neither on the Millis Continent nor the Central Continent have we ever heard any news of Superd appearing. I'm sorry," Dan Feng said calmly.

Roxy also nodded, indicating that she and Dan Feng had never heard anything about the Superd race. The most recent mention had only been Brez in Wind Port saying he had spotted [Dead End] (Ruijerd) nearby.

"I see," Ruijerd said, a look of disappointment appearing on his face.
