The next day, in the basement of the Akimichi Genbu household, two people were staring at an eyeball. Its pupil glowed a vivid red, and three tomoe were evenly spaced within it.
"Genbu, how did you activate it?" Nara Kiyomizu asked.
"Simple. I returned the five eyes I had previously obtained to their original owners, then stimulated their cerebral cortices using a combination of physical, chemical, and biological methods. Eventually, under electric shocks, Uchiha Lan's brain reacted, generating the unique Yin Chakra of the Uchiha clan, which in turn activated the Sharingan in his eyes," Genbu Akimichi said proudly.
"You're incredible! You actually revived a dead mind!"
Danaka Shinju was deeply impressed by his astonishing feat.
"Alas, we should have stimulated them from the beginning, forcing the Sharingan to awaken before the explosive tags went off. Then we wouldn't have had to go through so much trouble," Genbu lamented.
"It's too late for regrets. Why not extract the Yin Moon Chakra from this Sharingan now?"
"That's necessary. I isolated a large number of cells from this eye, selected individual cells containing Yin Moon Chakra, then proliferated and differentiated them. From these proliferated cells, I extracted a sufficient amount of Yin Moon Chakra."
In his hands appeared two specially prepared syringes, which he handed to the two men. The vials contained chakra that emitted a faint black glow.
Nara Kiyomizu and Yamasaki Yū were stunned. Such alluring chakra was like a powerful tonic for the Yin Shield clan.
"If we inject this Yin Moon Chakra into ourselves, could we awaken the Sharingan?" Yamasaki pondered.
"Don't indulge in unrealistic fantasies, Yū. Without Uchiha blood, these Yin Moon Chakras can only enhance your mental power," Genbu cautioned, dousing Yamasaki's hopes with cold water.
"I'll emphasize it again: don't inject it all at once. Take it slowly. The Yin Chakra of the Uchiha clan is not something you can endure lightly," he warned.
"Honestly, I think it's safer to test on mice first. You don't need to be so reckless," Genbu added.
"Don't worry. To get rich, you have to take risks. You told me that before. We don't know how long your animal experiments will take to succeed, so we'll just go ahead. We have the Yin Moon Chakra—it's not like it's nothing. Let's start."
Nara Kiyomizu's words weren't truly his own. He directly pushed the syringe into his right arm, and Danaka Shinju followed suit. They injected just one-tenth of the depth, but within ten seconds, both collapsed to the floor in agony, clutching their heads, crying and screaming, terrifying Qiu Dao Xuanwu.
He quickly restrained them but had no choice but to administer massive doses of painkillers. To his astonishment, the drugs were completely ineffective.
Genbu activated his Sharingan to observe them. He found that the injected chakra seemed to fuse with their brains, but he couldn't see it clearly. He cursed himself for not having a Byakugan to see through everything.
"What's happening? Do I really need the Sharingan?" he muttered.
After a long while, Yamanaka Yū stopped screaming, drenched in sweat.
"How do you feel?" Genbu asked, lowering the recording sheet. Clearly, Danaka had become his "lab rat."
"It's excruciating—this pain pierces the soul—but just this one-tenth of the chakra increased my mental power by 5%. Does that mean if I inject the full amount, my mental power could rise by 50%?"
Though weak from the ordeal, Danaka couldn't hide his excitement.
"You must first make sure you don't die from the pain. Just so you know, I already gave you and Kiyomizu triple the normal dose of painkillers—and it did nothing," Genbu warned.
Seeing Kiyomizu convulsing beside him, exhausted from the pain, Danaka hesitated. The benefits were immense, but who could truly endure such suffering?
After a while, Nara Kiyomizu recovered, weakly saying, "My mental power increased by 7%, but it was unbearable."
"Then, do you two want to continue? This is a great method to strengthen your mind," Genbu provocatively suggested, tempted to try using genjutsu to test them. He had experimented with various chemical reagents but to no avail.
"We'll talk about it tomorrow," they both refused simultaneously.
"Tch, you two cowards. Such timidity," Genbu scolded.
The two raised their middle fingers and retorted, "It's easy for you to talk when your waist doesn't hurt. If you're so brave, go ahead and try it yourself."
Some might wonder why Genbu didn't use this method to enhance his own mental power.
What a joke. Did he even need more mental fortitude? His psychological resilience had been growing rapidly anyway.
Why endure such suffering? Isn't living enough?
Moreover, did he even want to strengthen his mind?
Clearly not. What he sought was to identify the genetic differences between various Sharingan, perfect their genome sequences, then perform gene deletion, insertion, and reprogramming to find the genome best suited to fuse with his own Sharingan.
In the following days, the basement echoed with the sounds of clear water and rain as Genbu continued his genetic experiments.
Above ground, Genbu's shadow clones were developing chakra characteristics and practicing ninjutsu, while the original maintained his imposing presence without change.
Meanwhile, in the courtyard, another person continued his previous training—his younger brother, Namikaze Tsunagi.
Previously, Genbu had invited Nara Kiyomizu and Yamanaka Yū to join, but both had mercilessly declined, even mocking him as a masochist.
"Hmph. Just wait. Once I master Armament Haki and can knock you to the ground with a single punch, will you still dare to mock me?"
These four had all experienced varying degrees of pain and pleasure.
