"Parents and guardians! Time for the family relay games! First up… the classic three-legged race for couples. Husbands and wives, partners, come to the field! You will be tied together at the ankle and race as one. Let's see which family moves in perfect sync!"
Jaden clapped excitedly from the sidelines. "Dad! Jasmine! That's you!"
Before we could even step forward, Christina stood up gracefully, smoothing her pastel dress with a sweet smile. "I can go with Stephan. After all, I have supported this family for so long, and Jaden deserves to see unity today."
Her words were sugar-coated, but the intention was clear.
I didn't hesitate. My voice came out blunt and firm. "You dare? There's no reason why you should go. You are not his wife. I am. I am the one who is supposed to be the mother figure here, not you."
