JASMINE
I walked out of the hospital room, my heart pounding so hard it felt like it would burst through my ribs. I still couldn't get over the fact about Mia. I needed to meet her, and I didn't have the patience to eat here and not have any news.
My legs hurt like hell from the earlier fall, and my head throbbed with a migraine that refused to fade, but I kept moving. The sterile smell of the hospital clung to my clothes as I pushed through the corridor, desperate for air, for answers, for anything that made sense.
"Jasmine!"
Stephan's voice cut through the chaos behind me. I didn't stop. My bare feet slapped against the cold floor as I tried to reach the exit.
"Where the fuck are you going now?" he demanded, catching up in a few long strides. His hand grabbed my arm, firm but not bruising.
I spun around and pulled his hand closer to me, my fingers trembling. "Hey… hey… please, something is wrong. The flash drive… I…"
