I trembled as I clutched my phone, the screen now dark and silent. My fingers felt numb, my mind spinning in endless circles. How do I go about this? How do I complete the tasks when the system isn't even helping me enough?
I took a deep breath, staring at the plain white corners of the hospital walls. The beeping of the monitor beside me felt too loud, too constant, like a countdown I couldn't escape.
"Damn it, Jasmine… what can you do now?" I whispered to myself, the words barely audible in the quiet room. The fact that it seems like the writer decided to make me the only one who recalls the whole shit, and I don't even know how I would explain it to Stephan.
Frustration burned in my chest, mixed with a deep, bone-weary fear. Everything was slipping away Mia, the flash drive, pieces of reality itself. And I was stuck here, trapped in a body that wasn't fully mine, in a story that someone else was rewriting.
