Watching this scene, the generals fell into a collective silence. Their worst nightmare had manifested: the White Demon had truly grown strong enough in such a short time to withstand a nuclear explosion. With this reality established, what means were left on Earth to harm him?
One of the generals suddenly snapped out of his daze and questioned Colonel Stryker. "Colonel Stryker, why didn't the mutant suppression device work on the White Demon?"
The others immediately picked up on the issue. If the suppression device were truly effective, then the White Demon, stripped of his powers, should have been nothing more than an ordinary human who couldn't possibly survive a nuclear blast. The fact that he was still using his abilities meant the device had failed to achieve its intended effect. Every general turned a questioning, accusatory gaze toward Stryker.
Under the pressure of the high-ranking officers, Stryker took a moment to compose himself before explaining. "The medium for that specific suppression device was sonic waves. If the sound is deliberately isolated, the effectiveness of the device drops drastically. It seems the White Demon used such a method to immunize himself against its effects. However, do not worry, Generals. We have a backup measure. It was crafted using detailed data on the White Demon alone—a specialized suppression device designed for him and him alone!"
He continued with renewed intensity. "This version is tens of times more powerful than the standard models. Furthermore, the medium for this new device is electromagnetic waves, which are almost impossible to block! Because its range is limited, we didn't deploy it immediately. However, I have installed it on every single Sentinel robot. These Sentinels carry the specific suppression field and have also replicated spatial-cleaving capabilities tailored against him. They will surely kill the White Demon!"
Hearing Stryker's subsequent arrangements, the generals showed looks of appreciation. Their hearts finally settled as they regained confidence in the plan to exterminate the threat.
Walking out from the center of the nuclear blast, Aurelius Viremont let out a burp. Having absorbed the total energy of a high-yield nuclear explosion, even he felt nearly filled to the brim; the energy within his body was almost overflowing. If he hadn't been able to continuously convert that energy into points and funnel them into his character template, he wouldn't have been able to carry the sheer magnitude of the blast. Even so, he felt a sudden impulse to erupt, wanting to release all the pent-up energy in his system.
Right at that moment, through the long-range vision of the Six Eyes, Aurelius Viremont spotted dozens of strange-looking robots approaching. The boiling power within him finally found a place to be unleashed.
The moment they appeared, Aurelius Viremont recognized them as the Sentinels, robots designed specifically for the annihilation of mutants. Sentinels could detect any form of mutant power and instantly transform or adapt themselves to counter those specific genes. However, at this point in time, these Sentinels were far from their final evolution. They couldn't yet shift X-genes at will. Aurelius Viremont guessed they could likely only load two or three mutant abilities at once, and one of those would definitely be the spatial attack used to target him.
He wondered: while spatial attacks could previously bypass his defenses, could they still break through now that his Limitless Technique had reached Lv.3?
In the military base, the satellite feed transmitted the desert scene to the huge screens. The generals and Stryker watched with bated breath. If this encirclement failed, it would mean they truly had no further way to restrain the White Demon.
Suddenly, they saw the White Demon move. Instead of fleeing, he charged directly toward the dozens of machines. This made the generals and Stryker exceptionally excited. Their biggest fear was that he would run away or attack the Sentinels from a long distance. Both the suppression field and the spatial attacks had a limited range; if he stayed far away, the Sentinels would be helpless.
Once the White Demon fully entered the effective range of the devices, Stryker barked an order. "Activate the anti-White Demon suppression field!"
Simultaneously, Aurelius Viremont heard a hum of electricity from the Sentinels. He felt the energy in his body stagnate for a split second before instantly returning to normal. He realized it was the influence of a suppression device, but unfortunately for them, such technology no longer worked on him.
Activating Cursed Technique Lapse: Blue, he used the massive gravitational pull to connect himself to the space ahead. With one step, he crossed a hundred meters and landed directly in front of a Sentinel.
Pressing his palm against the robot's head, a black-red singularity erupted from his hand. Horrific repulsive force expanded outward. The Sentinel beneath his palm was the first to be obliterated. The singularity continued its forward path, destroying a dozen more Sentinels before finally dissipating.
Back in the command center, silence fell once again. Stryker stared at the screen in disbelief, watching the White Demon ignore the suppression field entirely. Destroying a dozen Sentinels with a single casual strike made him doubt for the first time whether he could actually hunt this man. Why was he ignoring the device? It was specifically designed based on his own power data! The researchers had been certain it could suppress him for hours. Yet, it hadn't even lasted a second.
A strong sense of unease enveloped Stryker. He could only comfort himself repeatedly. "It's fine, it's fine. We still have spatial attacks! The White Demon cannot block spatial attacks. The Sentinels will kill him!"
Under his command, the Sentinels immediately unleashed spatial strikes. Dozens of invisible blades flew toward him like a dense fishing net, intending to entangle him and leave no room for escape.
Facing the incoming spatial blades, Aurelius Viremont showed no sign of tension. These attacks, which could have threatened him in the past, could no longer touch him. The speed of the blades was fast to his old self, but with the Six Eyes at Lv.3, he could capture their trajectory with ease. If he wanted to, he could simply dodge them all.
However, Aurelius Viremont chose a different path. After dodging the majority of the blades, he stood directly in the path of one and attempted to block it using the Limitless Technique. The spatial blade, which could easily bypass a Lv.1 Limitless barrier, hit the Lv.3 field and slowed down drastically, creeping forward at a snail's pace.
Against the Lv.3 Limitless, spatial attacks could no longer easily break through. Watching the blade crawl through his barrier, Aurelius Viremont reached a conclusion: Lv.4 Limitless would likely grant him complete immunity to spatial attacks.
With the experiment finished, Aurelius Viremont pointed his index finger at the remaining machines. A billiard-ball-sized azure black hole and a black-red singularity of the same size merged before him, forming a sphere of imaginary mass crackling with purple lightning. It lunged forward instantly.
The purple sphere annihilated the spatial blades in a heartbeat and continued its flight, erasing every Sentinel in its path until it vanished over the horizon.
