Sarah's life would never be the same again. Sleep no longer came easily to her, not when her mind was overflowing with thoughts about how drastically everything had changed. On top of that, Keith refused to stop calling her. Still, she couldn't bring herself to block him. More than that, she didn't even have a real reason to do so.
Once again, her gaze drifted to the glowing screen of her phone. Five unanswered calls from Keith stared back at her, and Sarah still hadn't returned a single one of them. Suddenly, another message appeared on the screen, making her eyes widen slightly.
"Should I read it? What am I even supposed to say to him?"
Yet Sarah remained unmoved. Slowly, she raised her fingers and pressed two of them against her lips before lightly biting the tip of one nail, a nervous habit she couldn't stop herself from doing whenever her thoughts became too loud. After a few seconds, she placed the phone back down without even opening the message.
