Synopsis
Corpse Flower—a failed experimental super-soldier enhancement drug that caused the undead outbreak. Disguised—or rather, misused—as an effective morning-after pill, Corpse Flower turned incompatible women into the first undead, spreading the outbreak across the world and plunging the 21st century into a dark age. But even the darkest cloud has a silver lining. Among those who survived were women compatible with Corpse Flower. The drug turned them half-undead, granting them strength equal to genetically enhanced super-soldiers. The Energy stored in their wombs also gave them access to supernatural abilities. The women who claimed the title of Corpse Flower weren't the only ones who rose up to fight the threat of the evolving undead. Chosen men, through love and lust, earned the title of Alpha, gaining temporary power by being infected through intimacy with their half-undead lovers. And to bring hope and salvation, certain girls exist whose blood holds the power to turn the tide of the war against the undead—girls known as Lycoris. --- Disclaimer – The image used for the new book cover is not mine.

Chapter 1 - Day 1 - Part 1

BRRRT!~ERRRR!~WHOOOP!

[There have been reports of possible terrorist attacks across the entire city, and just outside the academy.]

[I repeat—There have been reports of possible terrorist attacks across the entire city, and just outside the academy.]

[Students and teachers are advised to remain within their classrooms.]

[Fourth-year students who are under the Self-defense Force Training curriculum should report to the school gymnasium and wait for further instructions.]

---

Between the ominous emergency alarm resounding throughout the entire campus, the broadcast coming from every speaker in each classroom and corridor, and the worried reactions of his classmates and teacher, Luel chose to focus on the seat beside him—on the bastard Kazuto, who had just returned from skipping the first morning class and then grabbed Kasumi's hand in an attempt to drag her away.

"Don't you understand?! There are undead attacking just outside our school! Unless you want to die, you should come with me and hide at my condominium!"

Kazuto kept blabbering about the possibility of an undead outbreak that he had seen outside the gate from the rooftop, all while pulling Kasumi's hand hard enough to make her rise from her seat—only for Kasumi to slap his hand away.

"Even if I were to die, why would I come with you?" Kasumi retorted, a leer curving her lips as she looked down at Kazuto, clearly intending to mock him in front of everyone.

Kazuto raised his hand, attempting to slap her out of frustration over how Kasumi had treated him over the years, despite them being childhood friends. But before his hand could touch her cheek, Luel grabbed his wrist to protect Kasumi.

"Let go, you bastard—"

"Show me your right wrist, Kasumi," Luel said, worried that she might have been bruised, ignoring Kazuto's blabbering and foolish struggle.

"I'm fine, Luel. See?"

Kasumi showed her right wrist, but contrary to what she said, a faint bruise was visible.

However, it wasn't from Kazuto.

"It's from you restraining and pinning us down on the bed last night. Even Yhuna has one," Kasumi said—loud enough for the entire classroom to hear.

Looking at Yhuna in the front seat of the class, she raised both hands to show the bruises on her wrists and silently nodded in agreement that they were from their intimacy—something a few of their classmates easily understood, including Kazuto.

"YOU FUC—Thud!"

Kazuto fell, stumbling to the ground as Luel released his hand, seeing no reason to break it further.

Still, that didn't stop Kazuto from lashing out at Kasumi while being helped to stand by his friend, Jinsu.

"How the hell did you change so much?! First, there was that fuckin' pervert who gave you those lewd cosplay clothes, then that rental girlfriend job and gravure modeling, and now this bastard?! Don't you have any shame?! Weren't you supposed to be mine?! Didn't we promise each other we'd get married when we grew up?!"

PFFT—!

Everyone barely held back their laughter at how cringe-worthy Kazuto's tantrum was—enough to overwhelm their worries from the concerning broadcast they had just heard and the ominous emergency alarm that was still ongoing.

Kasumi hugged Luel, burying her face in his chest to muffle her laughter.

Yhuna quickly covered her lips with both hands, desperately holding back her laughter at just how successful Kasumi's plan from a decade ago had turned out to be.

I know, but I still love them, Luel sighed in response to the questioning looks of those who understood how Kasumi had intentionally toyed with Kazuto's feelings.

Luel embraced Kasumi, patting her head and caressing her back to calm her down from laughing so much.

That sight finally opened Kazuto's eyes to the grim truth—and at the same time, broke his heart.

"YOU FUCKIN' LIAR!"

Kazuto rushed at Kasumi, this time intending to seriously hit her with his fist.

Luel swiftly yet gently moved Kasumi aside and countered Kazuto with a single punch straight to his face, intending to knock him out.

BAMM!

To everyone's surprise—especially Luel—his punch sent Kazuto flying until he slammed into the classroom door.

Even though he had a muscular body from regular gym visits below their apartment building, and Kazuto was much shorter, sending him flying a dozen meters was impossible for any normal human.

Just what is happening to me? Luel thought, feeling the lustful heat that had been rising within his body since last night, making him barely able to hold back his excitement and arousal.

Regardless of the mystery, there was something else Luel was far more concerned about.

Kazuto lay unconscious, his nose broken and blood dripping from his mouth.

"He is dead, right, Mr. Nacht?"

Their homeroom teacher, Nacht, frantically approached to check Kazuto's pulse, but before he could answer Luel's not-so-worried question:

ROOAAARRRR—!

ARGHHH—!

GYAHHH—!

GAHHH—!

A series of deafening roars erupted throughout the entire building, followed by dying and panicked screams echoing through every corridor.
