Chapter 10 - edition 10 "The dreamer"

EDITION 10 — "THE DREAMER"

---

Everything was silent.

No Council.

No Door.

No Versions.

No memories.

Only white.

Endless white.

The Reader slowly opened their eyes.

The Writer was gone.

Nemesis was gone.

The Forgotten Version was gone.

There was only one person standing in the distance.

A young boy.

The Author.

---

He sat beneath a tree.

Drawing.

Writing.

Creating little figures from paper.

The Reader slowly approached.

---

Reader

"Who are you?"

---

The boy looked up.

He smiled.

---

Young Author

"I'm the Dreamer."

---

The wind blew softly.

The sky slowly appeared.

Grass.

Mountains.

Rivers.

Stars.

The entire world began forming around him.

---

Reader

"Did you create all of this?"

---

The boy nodded.

---

Dreamer

"When reality hurt me..."

"I made my own."

---

As he spoke, countless scenes appeared.

TOBI.

The lake.

The Versions.

The Writer.

Nemesis.

The Forgotten Version.

Even the Council Hall.

---

Reader

"They all came from you?"

---

The Dreamer smiled.

---

Dreamer

"They were never imaginary."

"They were pieces of me."

---

Far away, the Writer appeared.

He walked slowly toward the Dreamer.

For the first time in the series...

the Writer removed his hood.

His face resembled the Author.

---

Writer

"I was created to tell his story."

---

Nemesis appeared.

The darkness around him had faded.

His red eyes were calm.

---

Nemesis

"I was created to carry his pain."

---

The Forgotten Version emerged.

His countless eyes had disappeared.

He looked almost human.

---

Forgotten Version

"I was created to guard his memories."

---

The Dreamer looked at them all.

---

Dreamer

"And all of you..."

"...were created to protect me."

---

The sky began shining.

For the first time.

The Dreamer stood.

---

Dreamer

"I spent so long running."

"Running from pain."

"Running from memories."

"Running from myself."

---

He looked toward Nemesis.

---

Dreamer

"I'm sorry."

---

Nemesis remained silent.

---

Dreamer

"I locked you away."

---

He turned toward the Forgotten Version.

---

Dreamer

"I forgot you."

---

He looked toward the Writer.

---

Dreamer

"And I made you carry my story alone."

---

The Writer smiled.

---

Writer

"It was my job."

---

Suddenly.

A familiar voice echoed.

A voice the Reader had not heard for many editions.

---

Voice

"You've grown."

---

Everyone froze.

The wind stopped.

The lake appeared.

The moon reflected upon the water.

Standing beside it.

A headband.

A smile.

---

TOBI

---

The Dreamer's eyes filled with tears.

---

Dreamer

"Tobi?"

---

Tobi walked forward.

Exactly as he had appeared long ago.

---

Tobi

"You finally found yourself."

---

The Dreamer fell to his knees.

---

Dreamer

"Why did you leave?"

---

Tobi smiled.

---

Tobi

"Because one day..."

"You had to learn how to walk without me."

---

The Reader remained silent.

Even Nemesis looked away.

Even the Writer said nothing.

---

Tobi placed a hand on the Dreamer's shoulder.

---

Tobi

"You don't need me anymore."

---

The Dreamer cried.

Not from sadness.

Not from loneliness.

But because after all these years.

He finally understood.

---

Tobi looked toward the Reader.

---

Tobi

"Thank you."

---

The Reader blinked.

---

Reader

"For what?"

---

Tobi

"For staying."

---

The sky began fading.

The world started disappearing.

The Dreamer stood once more.

---

The Writer.

Nemesis.

The Forgotten Version.

Tobi.

The Reader.

Everyone stood together.

For the first time.

No enemies.

No villains.

No fear.

Only understanding.

---

The Dreamer smiled.

---

Dreamer

"I think..."

"I'm finally awake."

---

Everything turned white.

---

Final Scene

The original library.

The Writer sits alone.

One final book rests upon the table.

Its title:

THE DREAMER

The Writer closes it.

He looks directly at the Reader.

---

Writer

"So Reader..."

"Did you enjoy the dream?"

---

He smiles.

---

Writer

"Because our story..."

"...isn't over yet."

---

The camera slowly pulls away.

The library becomes smaller.

The stars become brighter.

And somewhere far away.

The Dreamer continues writing.
