United States, Some Time Later
A light appeared inside a dense forest. Learning from what had happened before, Damon chose a forest instead of a town inhabited by humans.
The amount of toxic fumes in those areas bothered him, and he did not feel like dealing with that right now. More than that, he could not. If he did something in that style, it would draw the attention of the minor gods, and they would probably report what had happened to Zeus, and first he wanted to know more about Greek Mythology.
Knowledge is power, but something inside him wanted nothing to do with this, and Uranus had not done much to calm that feeling.
He walked slowly, observing everything around him, looking up at the tops of the trees, some with brown leaves while others fell innocently to the ground, showing that they were entering autumn.
In truth, his pantheon had only changed when it was near human populations. Here it looked more or less the same; forest nymphs were missing from everywhere. Had the population of nymphs decreased? Or were they hiding? He did not know the answer to that question, but honestly, it would not surprise him if they were hiding, protecting the few natural places they had left... eventually he would find out...
A huge boar pulled him from his thoughts. Running for its life, it brushed past the blond. The animal was quite frightened, fleeing from something that was following it very closely. He started hearing footsteps approaching him quickly, until the first came out from between the trees, followed by several dozen more people.
'What the hell?' Damon was a little confused by what he had in front of him, an army of girls from the age of 12 to some around 20 or so stood before him armed with bows... aiming at him the whole time.
Damon had to admit the situation was pretty comical, you did not see an army of girls aiming bows at you every day, but he held back the urge to laugh as best he could.
"Wooooah, easy"
The blond's voice echoed through the whole forest.... The girls, not recognizing this man..... tightened their bowstrings even more, making the wood creak, causing Damon to raise his hands slightly in a sign of peace.
A woman who looked about 18 years old stepped forward, catching Damon's attention.
She was a very beautiful woman... her hair was tied in a ponytail that reached her waist, a color almost reddish-brown, silver eyes that seemed to shine on their own in the darkness of the forest, since night was beginning to fall, a small nose and pink full lips that made her beauty stand out even more, with fairly pale skin that increased her charm.
She was dressed in a white tunic of light fabric that fit her figure elegantly, open on one of her legs to give her freedom of movement. She wore golden ornaments around her waist and arms that gave her a noble and almost divine air. On her feet she wore Greek leather boots that went up her legs with delicate laces, while a quiver full of arrows rested on her back and in one of her hands she held a refined-looking golden bow.
She raised one hand and the other girls began lowering their bows, though without removing the arrows, ready to shoot quickly if Damon did anything to attack the woman who seemed to be the leader of the group.
When the hooded man raised his hands, she could see that he had a tattoo on each palm, a sun on the right and a crescent moon on the left, and that caught her attention... more specifically the moon.
"Who are you?" the red-haired woman asked.
Perfect, I had to run into a goddess just when I had barely arrived... Damon thought.
"She is interesting, I feel a very strong connection with nature coming from her," said Matatabi's melodious voice.
Damon was thinking about how to get out of this situation without having to resort to violence... well, more like without having to be followed by an army of girls armed to the teeth, but the woman's voice quickly pulled him from his thoughts.
"Hey boy, I'm talking to you!" the woman said again, now with an annoyed voice for not having received an answer earlier.
Damon did not know what to do or say, but he did notice the annoyance in her voice. He could feel divine energy radiating from the girl in front of him, so he wanted to avoid any kind of conflict that would expose him and draw the attention of the other gods, something he did not want right now.
So he did the first thing that came to mind; little by little he started bringing his hands to the hood without making any sudden movement and began to reveal his face... After all, someone who hides their face does not give off good feelings.
Artemis was surprised; she had never seen bluer eyes in her life, as if they were a reflection of the sky itself, a well-toned face and spiky blond hair that contrasted with his coal-black fur jacket.
Under the jacket he seemed to be wearing a black mesh shirt. In each ear he had a black earring and, in the center, some kind of white rune? She herself did not even know what they were or what decorated the earrings.
But what caught her attention the most was that two necklaces hung from his neck: one with what looked like a rather large wolf fang and another with a beautiful bluish stone.
She had to admit it: the man in front of her was attractive; he looked to be about 20 years old.
But he was also the type of man she disliked the most, they were all the same and the attractive ones were the worst, seducing women using their physical appearance so they could sleep with them and then abandon them as if they were disposable toys.
She stared fixedly at the blond in front of her, who seemed to want to say something until she saw him sigh.
Damon raised his gaze after sighing and began to look around him, surrounded by girls in silver outfits armed with bows and hunting knives.
He looked at each and every one of them, making some tense up under his gaze, with his intense blue eyes seeming to shine a little, though his gaze and attention ended up settling on a girl around 16 or 17 years old who remained right beside the goddess.
He kept looking at her for a short period of time, long dark brown almost black hair tied in a ponytail, a well-defined face showing her beautiful features, a well-built body because of training, and dressed in the same silver outfit, though at the same time a little different, as if indicating that she had a higher rank than the other girls.
But what captivated Damon the most about that girl were her eyes, black as the night itself, and the faint essence of the sea that emanated from her... it felt familiar to him, as if he already knew her.
She resembled one of Atlas's daughters whom he had saved together with her mother in one of their battles. Her essence felt familiar, but he was not capable of remembering exactly who she was.
The blond could see the girl frown; most likely because he had been looking at her for too long. Honestly, he did not care much, but he would not lie either.
It was starting to become annoying.
Why did he feel hatred from each and every one of them toward him? He had done nothing to them, right? Damn it, he would swear he did not know a single one of them. He set that aside and did the only thing he could think of... he spoke the only language he knew from his pantheon.
"I'm just passing through," Damon said in Ancient Greek. He did not know what to say, he simply spoke in the only language he knew from his world.
"Who are you?" the girl asked now. She was a little impressed that the blond spoke Ancient Greek, but she was not going to dwell on it, so she repeated her question in a language he would understand.
"And who are you?" the blond replied. He was beginning to get a little annoyed by the girl's attitude; he could feel a bit of hatred and annoyance in her voice when she spoke to him, and the other girls were not even trying to hide their hatred...
This started to piss off the brunette. First he interrupts her hunt and then he does not want to answer her question. If this kept up, she would turn the blond into some kind of animal and then hunt him.
She was about to repeat the question when the bushes behind the blond began to move and what she saw left her frozen.
