Chapter 38: Going Home Together
Did I just get reverse-ravaged?
By the time Suyan finally processed what was happening, it was far too late to mount any sort of defense.
He had already seen the spot of crimson on the bedsheets.
Being entirely on the receiving end of such aggressive passion was a first for him.
How could he describe the feeling?
A girl like Saeko Busujima, who had dedicated her life to the rigorous physical demands of kendo, possessed incredibly firm, sleek musculature. The sensation of her skin, the powerful, almost spring-like resilience of her body pressing against his...
It was an unparalleled, transcendent experience.
Yeah, it was incredible.
Of course, Shizuka had her own unique appeal. She was delightfully soft and plush, making her the ultimate cuddle pillow for a good night's sleep.
They each brought their own distinct flavor to the table.
The only glaring issue was...
Where exactly had Saeko dragged him to do this?
The infirmary!!!
Suyan scanned the room, making eye contact with the other three women present, and felt his soul leave his body.
He had to admit, Saeko was playing a very specific, very petty game.
First, outside of the infirmary, there weren't exactly any comfortable, private locations readily available in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. The lack of a bed was a minor issue; the bigger problem was safety.
If a stray zombie wandered in and interrupted her mid-climax, she probably would have cried tears of pure frustration.
Second, and more importantly, this was entirely about settling the score with Shizuka.
Saeko's thought process was simple: You ruined my moment last time, and then you had the absolute audacity to make me listen to you two going at it all night?
Fine. I'll do it right in front of you. You can watch, but you can't touch.
It was her own beautifully vindictive brand of revenge against the busty nurse.
As for Rei and Saya?
She could only offer a silent, unapologetic sorry in her head.
However, judging by the bright, feverish flush painting Shizuka's cheeks, Saeko's attempt at revenge had completely misfired.
Shizuka wasn't angry in the slightest.
In fact, she looked just as excited as Saeko had been.
Saeko looks so incredibly beautiful right now!
Did I look that pretty when I was with Little Suyan?
I really want to know!
Shizuka stared unblinkingly at Suyan, her golden eyes sparkling with intense, unhidden fascination.
Her stare was so intense it made Suyan's skin crawl.
And the other two girls in the room?
Saya Takagi was huddled in the far corner of the room, her hands clamped tightly over her face, the very picture of a girl too traumatized to look.
However, she hadn't turned her back to the bed, and there was a distinctly noticeable gap between her fingers.
Her actions could only be described by one metric:
Is she covering her eyes? Barely.
Is she watching? Absolutely.
There was no point in guessing. The pink-haired girl looked like she was about to spontaneously combust from embarrassment, a clear indicator to anyone with eyes.
Behind her fingers, Saya's golden-brown eyes were wide open, unblinking.
She had absorbed every single agonizing detail of Suyan and Saeko's interaction from start to finish.
Now that the act was over and the initial shock of morbid curiosity was fading, only one thought echoed loudly in the pink-haired girl's mind.
My innocence is completely ruined!
Though, to be fair, that thought was occasionally interrupted by intrusive, highly inappropriate observations: How is he that big? How is Senior Saeko even handling that? Why is it taking so long? Is this a side effect of Nen too?!
As for Rei, her reaction was far more complicated.
Her eyes flickered through a rapid kaleidoscope of emotions.
Anger, frustration, annoyance, confusion, bewilderment...
Didn't Senior Busujima literally just tell me she wasn't dating Suyan?!
Then what the hell is this?!
And to do it right in front of me!
What is she trying to say?!
Is she provoking me?
Is this her way of declaring victory?!
Whatever it is, I am absolutely not backing down!
Eventually, the swirling storm of emotions in Rei's eyes solidified into sheer, unyielding determination.
Suyan took in the varying reactions of the women around him and let out a long, heavy sigh.
What's done is done. There was no point crying over spilled milk.
Besides, if given the chance, he absolutely wouldn't mind doing it again.
Suyan glanced down at Saeko, who was fast asleep beside him.
It was hard to believe that a woman who had just slaughtered over a thousand zombies without breaking a sweat was now so thoroughly exhausted she couldn't even keep her eyes open.
But the evidence was right there.
It wasn't that Saeko lacked stamina.
It was simply that he, Suyan, was ridiculously overpowered.
Cue hands-on-hips confident pose.
Suyan carefully lifted the exhausted Saeko and used his Nen to conjure a fresh set of clothes for her.
Her uniform was stiff with coagulated zombie blood; it was completely unwearable.
He draped her arms over his shoulders, slipped his hands beneath her knees and back, and scooped her up into a gentle bridal carry.
He turned to Shizuka. "Shizuka, could you do me a favor? Pack up Saeko's clothes and grab that bedsheet for me."
"Sure thing!"
Shizuka agreed cheerfully.
To be completely honest, Suyan didn't attach any deep, sentimental value to those particular items.
Saeko belonged to him, body and soul. Furthermore, their Contract bound them together in a way that could only be severed by death.
With a bond that absolute, what did a bloody piece of fabric matter?
But he recognized that this was strictly his pragmatic perspective.
For Saeko, it might hold immense emotional significance.
He remembered his first time with Shizuka. The airheaded nurse had meticulously kept and carefully stored the evidence of their night together.
She had even explicitly instructed YukimiBotamon, who was guarding their home, to keep a close eye on it. She told the Digimon that if a burglar ever broke in, it had full authorization to use lethal force to protect it.
Having learned from Shizuka's example, Suyan made a mental note of it.
It wasn't exactly a difficult request to accommodate.
Rather than risk Saeko waking up and feeling disappointed that the memento was lost, it was far easier to be considerate and handle the small details now.
Finally, Suyan looked at the girls, all of whom were lost in their own complex thoughts, and spoke softly. "Let's go home."
Hearing that, Rei finally snapped out of her brooding over Saeko's perceived betrayal.
She looked at Suyan, her lips parting as if to ask a question. She wanted to know if he had known the zombie outbreak was going to happen.
A few days ago, Suyan had strongly urged her to convince her father—a police officer—to take some time off work.
Because of his advice, her father hadn't been on duty these past few days. He had been safely resting at home.
This meant Rei didn't have to experience the agonizing dread she suffered in the anime, constantly worrying about her mother being alone and her father going MIA at the police station.
But in the end, Rei swallowed the question.
It didn't matter. Even if Suyan had known, she didn't believe he had the power to stop a global catastrophe.
The fact that he cared enough to warn her and help her prepare was more than enough.
Faced with Suyan's offer, Rei simply nodded, deciding to stick by his side.
I'm going on the offensive!
Suyan had no idea what Rei was plotting. As for the zombie apocalypse, he hadn't just warned Rei.
He had warned Saeko, too.
However, he had only told Saeko to warn her father—who was currently overseas—to stay safe, explicitly advising him not to return to Japan.
This wasn't favoritism. It was pragmatism. Suyan didn't know the exact date the outbreak would start.
If Saeko's father had been on a flight back to Japan when the world ended, he would have been trapped in the sky, completely helpless.
That would have been trying to help but accidentally causing a tragedy.
And what about Shizuka?
Well, she was in the same boat as Suyan.
She was an orphan.
