Chapter 10: Ambition, Sheep-Wool Harvesting, and Rising Tensions
With 100 lottery draws in hand, Naraku decided to go big—he'd forge more weapons first.
And the Senju bloodline standing right in front of him? No way he was letting that slip away.
He quickly recalled the timeline: this was Konoha Year 35. If nothing changed, Nawaki would be ridiculously blown up by explosive tags next year—right under Orochimaru's nose.
Naraku wasn't sure if there was foul play involved. Without plot armor, dying to explosive tags wasn't exactly implausible.
But reality was harsh: the Senju main line kept shrinking. Nawaki dies. Tsunade never remarries after her partner's death. By the Boruto era, she's still single.
Many with Senju blood integrated into the village, and later a bunch volunteered for Orochimaru's experiments hoping to awaken Wood Release—every single one ended up dead.
Only one outsider infant succeeded, and all he could do was grow some trees.
The thought made Naraku scheming.
But now that Uchiha Naraku was here, Konoha would stay peaceful.
As long as he existed, Nawaki wasn't dying anytime soon. Not even Jesus could take him—Naraku said so! This wool was his to shear!
And Tsunade? No dating that Kato Dan guy. Handsome or not, he screamed short lifespan.
In short: only Uchiha Naraku could truly handle Princess Tsunade! Once they had ten or twenty kids, arm the whole family with top-tier weapons. Let's see who dares scheme against the Senju clan then.
If Tobirama were still alive, he'd probably have his brain explode trying to comprehend it: an "evil Uchiha brat" going this far for Senju survival.
Or maybe he'd just Flying Thunder God in and slice Naraku into a thousand pieces for being so shameless.
Naraku turned directly to Nawaki: "You're my first custom client, so prepare the money. Of course, if you have any good biological materials or metals, bring those too. I'll forge a weapon perfectly suited to you."
Nawaki agreed happily.
Orochimaru's ears perked up at "biological materials." As a dedicated bio-researcher, he couldn't help but wonder: had this blade incorporated some organ or limb? How exactly did one fuse living tissue with different metals?
He resolved to examine the sword closely when he got home.
Back at home, Naraku was greeted by a furious Uchiha Mikoto: "Naraku! Where have you been?! Three days without school—your teacher Sarutobi Hiruzen was about to come to the Uchiha compound looking for you!"
Naraku explained recent events (omitting the most sensitive parts).
When he mentioned forging a blade comparable to the Seven Ninja Swordsmen's weapons, Mikoto couldn't hold back: "Naraku, something that valuable—how could you sell it so easily?! If you need money, the clan can buy it!"
Naraku sighed inwardly. Konoha: brainwashed first by Will of Fire, then by clan pride.
He needed to spend more time broadening Mikoto's horizons.
Of course, he knew she meant well—selling such a precious weapon casually could breed resentment within the clan. But Naraku didn't care. The current Uchiha were too cowardly yet too arrogant. That level of pettiness wasn't worth his full devotion.
Still, he planned to forge some weapons for the clan later. He wouldn't abandon Uchiha bloodline power—and right now, he was living under their protection.
He replied gently: "I won't forget the clan. There will be weapons for them later. But right now? They might not even value what I make."
After all, some Uchiha were so arrogant they believed their eyes were all they needed—everything else was beneath them.
...
Sarutobi Hiruzen sat in the Hokage's office chair, left hand flipping through documents, right hand holding his pipe.
Suddenly—bang!—the door slammed open.
Hiruzen didn't even look up. He already knew who it was.
"Hiruzen, I want one person from you!" Danzō's voice was firm, leaving no room for negotiation.
Hiruzen slowly raised his head, exhaled a puff of smoke, and asked calmly: "Who?"
Danzō answered without hesitation: "Uchiha Naraku!"
Hiruzen's eyes sharpened. He refused immediately: "No. He is Konoha's future greatest forger. Root's dark environment is no place for him—he needs sunlight and growth. Besides, he's still just an academy student. Letting him join Root is absolutely impossible."
Danzō sneered as if he'd expected the refusal. "So you already know about him. Then we need to talk seriously. He's an Uchiha! If he can keep producing top-tier weapons like 'Kirikabe Ichimonji'… are you sure you can keep the Uchiha clan in check?"
Hiruzen sounded genuinely angry: "The Uchiha are part of the village! I won't allow you to speak of them that way! Naraku is a good kid—he won't forget the village. His first weapon even went to Orochimaru!"
Danzō stared hard at Hiruzen, sensing the hypocrisy in his old friend's face.
Though fury boiled inside, Danzō forced it down: "What if the Uchiha produce their own 'Seven Ninja Swordsmen'—and every one of them has a Sharingan? Can you control that? They've always dreamed of an Uchiha Hokage. Or are you planning to hand the position to them?"
Hiruzen's temper flared: "I repeat: the Uchiha are part of the village, and Uchiha Naraku is an indispensable member of it. I will never allow him to join your shadowy Root!"
Danzō replied coldly: "You'll regret this, Hiruzen."
Hiruzen answered firmly: "I am the Hokage."
Danzō turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind him.
Hiruzen sighed helplessly. Deep down, he knew the potential crisis the Uchiha posed.
But in his prime, he still had full confidence in his ability to suppress them.
And he planned to approach this child, Uchiha Naraku—see if the boy truly carried the Will of Fire.
