Chapter 64 - Ramius Against The Four

'Curses. To think he would show up after I had used the attack meant for him on another person. Should we retreat?' The caster thought, his gaze shifting from Ramius to Krazel.

Meanwhile, the blonde haired man dismounted his horse, his gaze sweeping through the entire field as he analyzing the situation.

None of the Thornsleepers dared to make any moves. They were all too familiar with the accomplishments of the great General Strategist. The only person who is able to offer his opinion to Lady Nyxelene to make the Queen give it a considerable thought.

Ramius approached the burning Kneeling maiden.

Aeloria looked up at the man who now stood before her. She did not know what to say to him, after all, she was the one who deserted the kingdom. Ramius was the representative of Runevale in the abscence of the Queen. Since he was here, it was only right he punished a deserter.

'I came here to find leads on where the Head Captain might be, but to think I would find her here, what luck.' It would've been a big hassle if he had to look for her by asking random peolple. But not only was she kneeling before him, the Thornsleeper he had been searching for was also standing right before him too.

"That insane regeneration, you're the Cannibal alright." Ramius watched how her flesh peeled off from the heat, the blood burning before it could ooze out, and the way her skin partially healed, only to burn again.

'What, is he not going to punish me for breaking the law?'

As she contemplated on what her next move should be, the blonde haired man reached down and gently placed his hands on her shoulders.

'He's… not burning?' Aeloria watched the hand on her shoulders unlike her cahrring flesh, there were no changes on his skin.

"Eternal burning flames of the seventh prince?" He scooped a portion of the fire in his right palm as though he was fetching water. He analyzed the flames and spoke again.

"For an eternal flame of the void, its fire is surprisingly cold."

'The flames are supposed to burn anything it touches until that thing turned to ash, I sacrificed a number of my days to make sure of that. So, what in the seventh layer of hell am I looking at?' The caster watched Ramius play with the fire that was supposed to burn him.

"Sir Ramius? What are you doing here? No, more importantly, you should run, these heathens will kill us all." Krazel watched the blonde haired man in surprise. He was glad someone came, but at the same time, he didn't want to drag more people into his mess. He wanted to live, but opponents even the rumored cannibal couldn't defeat, it was safe to assume that the blonde haired man wouldn't be able to defeat as well.

"Krazel, we meet again." 'Why is he lying on the ground? And is that Zilel and the troublesome Migard?' He observed the merchant and the two men closely.

'Since they're not moving, that must mean they're under the effects of some really disturbing paralysis pill.

"I say we take this chance to launch a surprise attack while his guard is down." Dargo whispered to Kromel whose black cloak began to fade away.

"The General Strategiest never lets his guard down, you will do well to remember that. Let's watch and wait, a chance will present itself." Moseah was the one to answer, folding his arms as he observed Ramius.

"Don't worry, sir Krazel, this won't take long." Ramius shifted his gaze from the merchant to Aeloria as he spoke.

'So he really showed up. I don't know if he can take on all four of them on his own, but I hope he does, otherwise, we'll all die.' Zilel watched Ramius with newfound hope.

"Even if all your wounds heal, it must be quite the painful process. How long can you hang in there?" Ramius asked but got no reply.

It wasn't as though the maiden didn't want to reply, but rather, she couldn't.

'I see. The flames are affecting her insides too, that could be the only explanation on why she couldn't reply to my question. Then that wold also mean that she is in a much more excruciating pain than I thought.'

"Let me take care of those lowly vipers, only then can I help you without any interference. Can you hold on for that long?" Ramius rephrased his question in a way that would be easy for her to reply.

Aeloria nodded then looked in the direction of the protector.

"He also needs help it would seem." Ramius followed her line of sight and answered.

He then blew away the eternal fire in his palm as though blowing on hot porridge. The flames spiraled then dissipated.

He took a deliberate step towards the four Thornsleepers.

"On a normal occasion, I would've killed you all, but I'm short on time. That is why I've decided to give you two choices. Surrender and come with me to Runevale to die after intense torture, or die now." He took another step forward, speaking in a voice so cold it made them shift unconsciously.

"I choose the third choice." Moseah said while simultaneously taking out two daggers hidden in his cloak.

"You heard him, didn't you? He doesn't plan on letting any of us live no matter what we choose. I'll go in first, and when you find an opening as I keep him occupied, strike a killing blow. I'm counting on you." Dargo charged in before the others could offer their opinions.

He dushed forward, moving to the left, then to the right, then to the left again, his feet barely touching the ground in an attempt to confuse the blonde haired man of his next move.
