Nagi suddenly exerted force and struck toward Hashirama with a palm. Hashirama answered with one of his own.
"Bang!"
Borrowing the recoil from the clash, Nagi widened the distance. While retreating, a dark crimson sphere suddenly formed before him.
"Tailed Beast Flash."
(A variant of the Tailed Beast Ball—sometimes nicknamed "Void Hound Cannon.")
The crimson sphere erupted into a massive shockwave. This was the technique Nagi had developed from the Rasengan.
Hashirama clasped his hands together.
"Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergence!"
Using his chakra as the source of life, towering trees burst from the earth, surging forward to intercept the crimson blast.
"Boom!"
The techniques collided. The Tailed Beast Flash shredded the advancing trees, while the forest regenerated endlessly, even absorbing portions of the attack's chakra.
When the clash subsided, the surroundings were in ruins.
"Incredible!"
"Th-That's the First Hokage's Wood Release?!"
"That red shockwave—is that the technique Nagi developed from the Rasengan?"
Even the watching jōnin rarely witnessed battles at this level. And this was beyond ordinary Kage-level combat.
MEidara, however, watched without blinking.
Hashirama smiled.
"Grand-nephew, this time I'll make the first move. Be careful."
"Understood."
"Wood Release: Flowering Tree World!"
The trees expanded explosively, blooming into massive flowers that released golden pollen.
Nagi gathered chakra in his throat.
"Fire Release: Majestic Destroyer Flame!"
A dark meteor-like fireball shot forth, colliding with the forest and spreading into a sea of flames. The black fire fed on the pollen, devouring the trees.
"My technique being turned against me? Interesting… then—"
Hashirama clapped his hands again.
"Wood Release: Wood Dragon Technique!"
A colossal wooden dragon formed and surged forward with Hashirama standing atop it.
In response, black chakra flared around Nagi.
"What is that?!"
"A black giant?!"
"Isn't that the technique Itachi used on the night of the Uchiha Clan Massacre?!"
"Could it be—?!"
Even MEidara's eyes widened.
First, a skeletal frame formed around Nagi. Then muscles layered over bone. Finally, a towering black giant dozens of meters tall emerged.
"Susanoo."
The giant braced both hands against the Wood Dragon. The dragon coiled around it, the two constructs straining against each other.
MEidara muttered:
"So the brat has already deciphered the Mangekyō Sharingan's ultimate ocular technique. Impressive."
Memories surfaced—Nagi and Orochimaru's years of research into the Sharingan.
By repeatedly stimulating Shin Uchiha, they forced the awakening of a true Mangekyō Sharingan. Before Shin could celebrate, Orochimaru had plucked out the eyes, transplanted Three-Tomoe Sharingan in their place, and repeated the process.
With funding secured by repeatedly summoning Rasa through Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei) to mine Gold Dust, their Mangekyō research progressed rapidly.
They analyzed the unique emotion-induced chakra generated by the Mangekyō Sharingan, replicated its composition through Yin–Yang Release, and gradually acclimated Nagi's body to it.
They studied the dual-eye resonance effect and the explosive amplification of Yin Release chakra.
Drawing inspiration from the Nara Clan's use of Yin Release to give form to shadows, Nagi used Yin–Yang Release to forge a "key"—a gateway to Susanoo.
Now, his Susanoo advanced beyond the second stage, manifesting a lower body and legs.
With a burst of force from both sides—
"Bang!"
The Wood Dragon and Susanoo were pushed apart.
Hashirama laughed when he saw MEidara's slightly stunned expression.
"Hahaha, MEidara! See? My grand-nephew even mastered Susanoo!"
"Hmph. It's passable."
MEidara feigned indifference.
Hashirama knew that look well.
"Nagi… that's not your limit, is it? I can feel you can push Susanoo one stage higher."
Nagi nodded.
"Good! In that case—"
"Wood Release: Wood Golem Technique!"
A hundred-meter-tall wooden titan rose from the earth.
Before the crowd could even react—
"Perfect Susanoo."
Nagi's black giant expanded rapidly, forming armored plating, wings upon its back, and a massive blade in hand—equal in height to the Wood Golem.
By maximizing Yin Release—giving form to the formless—and stabilizing it with Yang Release, Nagi maintained the Perfect Susanoo.
It was a technique he rarely used; the chakra cost was enormous, and recovery required significant time.
But today—
He wanted to feel its true power firsthand.
And he also wanted to see MEidara's expression when a non-Uchiha manifested Perfect Susanoo.
The two titans stood facing each other.
Across Konoha, villagers looked up in shock at the towering figures.
Then—
Wood Golem and Perfect Susanoo simultaneously turned to look toward MEidara.
MEidara froze for a moment.
Veins bulged faintly at his temple.
"Why are you looking at me? Of course that research-obsessed brat would figure out Perfect Susanoo.
Very well—let me see how close it is to the real thing."
Meanwhile — Uchiha Clan Compound
"Bang!"
Sasuke crashed into a wall and fell, only to rise immediately.
"Again!"
Across from him stood Izuna Uchiha.
In an instant, Izuna flickered behind Sasuke.
Sasuke sensed it and spread his arms.
"Chidori—"
"Bang!"
Izuna's kick was faster. Sasuke was launched into the wall again.
The indomitable "Second Pillar" fell—but stood once more, eyes blazing.
"Again!"
