MEidara found it mildly interesting—the boy had just awakened a single tomoe, yet there was still the faint karmic connection of Indra's reincarnation between them.
Since Hashirama had invited him to observe Nagi's sparring session, MEidara left Sasuke to Izuna and headed toward the back mountain.
Izuna looked at Sasuke—bruised and battered, yet unyielding.
"Your eyes are good. But that's enough for now."
He glanced toward the distant mountains.
"A new Susanoo?"
Sasuke followed his gaze and froze.
"That's Itachi's technique?"
"Yes. When both Mangekyō Sharingan activate their ocular powers simultaneously, the ultimate ability of our Sharingan manifests—Susanoo. But that isn't my brother's. It belongs to someone else. Come, let's see."
With that, Izuna brought Sasuke to the back mountain.
Back Mountain
The Wood Golem and Susanoo stood opposed.
Nagi drew his blade first.
The Wood Golem caught the strike barehanded.
"Wood Dragon Technique!"
The dragon coiled around the Wood Golem lunged at Susanoo.
"Lightning Release: Lightning Dragon Technique!"
A black dragon of lightning erupted around Susanoo, intertwining with the wooden dragon.
"Hmm? Yin Release enhancing the lightning dragon's power and duration," MEidara analyzed calmly.
Hashirama stepped back with the Wood Golem.
"Wood Release: Wood Expulsion Jutsu!"
A massive wooden trunk grew from the Wood Golem's arm and shot forward like a spear.
But Susanoo suddenly vanished.
The trunk pierced the earth, sprouting into a forest.
"Hmm?"
Hashirama frowned.
MEidara immediately understood.
"Not Body Flicker… it disappeared? He transferred the entire Susanoo with the Flying Thunder God Technique?"
Suddenly sensing danger, Hashirama pivoted the Wood Golem and raised its arm to defend.
Too late.
Susanoo had already drawn its blade.
"Swallow Reversal."
Three lightning-fast slashes cleaved forward.
The Wood Golem failed to fully defend—one arm was severed, and a deep cut split its torso.
"So fast."
Both Hashirama and MEidara grew serious.
Executing such rapid iaijutsu with a construct of that scale was astonishing.
Even MEidara knew that Perfect Susanoo's size sacrificed speed for destructive power.
Yet Nagi had compensated with space–time movement.
"Whoosh—"
Susanoo vanished again.
This time, Hashirama concentrated fully. Having fought Tobirama countless times, he understood where Flying Thunder God attacks typically emerged.
Susanoo materialized at the Wood Golem's flank.
"Iaijutsu: Cross Slash."
Draw—horizontal cut—rising diagonal slash—reverse horizontal—then downward cleave.
All within an instant.
Hashirama had already charged his counter.
"Pure Land: Heaven-Piercing Fist!"
"BOOM!!!"
Blade and fist collided, unleashing a devastating shockwave.
MEidara activated Susanoo to shield himself.
Tobirama instantly used the Flying Thunder God Technique to relocate the spectators.
When the smoke cleared, devastation spread across the battlefield. Both Wood Golem and Susanoo had been pushed back dozens of meters.
Nagi understood.
Hashirama's punch had been slightly delayed—otherwise, it would not have ended in a draw.
He also felt his chakra draining rapidly. A few more Flying Thunder God slashes at most.
"Enough."
Hashirama called an end.
"If we continue, we'll destroy Konoha."
Nagi nodded.
If Hashirama truly fought at full power, the Land of Fire itself might not survive.
Both Perfect Susanoo and Wood Golem dissipated.
They landed on the ground.
Hashirama laughed heartily.
"Hahaha! Grand-nephew, you're remarkable. At this rate, you'll surpass MEidara and me soon enough."
MEidara stepped forward.
"Nagi… next time, face me in a Susanoo duel. Your draw speed is impressive—but there are imperfections in your motion and instability in your chakra."
"Agreed."
Nagi extended his hand.
MEidara paused—then shook it.
"Hmph. Don't blame me if I show no mercy."
Moments later, the spectators rushed over.
Naruto's voice rang out first.
"Nagi! Nagi! What was that giant? It was awesome! Teach me!"
Nagi smiled gently.
"I'm sorry, Naruto. Susanoo requires exceptionally strong Yin Release chakra.
Your strength lies in Yang Release. You might instead attempt to learn my grand-uncle's Wood Golem.
Besides, you have the Nine-Tails. You don't necessarily need this path."
"That's right, Naruto. For now, let Dad teach you how to control the Nine-Tails' power… no—Shiranui Kūrama's power."
Minato corrected himself with a soft smile.
"Okay! I'll train with Dad first!"
Naruto mostly wanted to spend time with him.
But—
"Hmph. Then master your Tailed Beast power properly. I'll train Yin Release chakra with Nagi and Izuna-senpai."
Sasuke stepped forward. After witnessing Susanoo, he knew Yin Release was crucial for him.
"Nani?!"
Naruto bristled like an indignant fox.
"No way! I'm training with Nagi too! Uh… Dad…"
Minato wiped a bead of sweat.
"Ahaha… well…"
Nagi intervened smoothly.
"Sasuke, your memories should already include substantial Yin Release training with me.
Still, you could also study Yin-nature training under the Fourth Hokage."
Minato nodded quickly.
"Yes, Sasuke. You're welcome to train alongside Naruto. Shiranui Kūshina and I were close with FugaShiranui Kū and Mikoto. There's no need for formality."
"My father and mother…?"
Sasuke blinked, surprised.
"I'll learn from you eventually. But first—I'll train with Izuna-senpai."
