A massive cloud of mist quickly enveloped the two of them.
Jigen spun the chakra rod in his hand, and the wind pressure generated by the rotation rapidly dispersed the mist around him.
He searched for Nagi's figure and soon locked onto a direction.
"There!"
Jigen immediately hurled the black rod in his hand like a spear toward the target he had locked onto.
Nagi suddenly sensed something unusual on his left. The moment he looked up, he saw the chakra rod shooting straight toward him. It happened too suddenly—before he could dodge, the rod pierced directly through his body.
Grabbing the rod that had impaled him, Nagi calmly sensed the loss of chakra within his body.
"The chakra absorption speed of this rod really is fast."
At that moment, Jigen appeared right in front of him and summoned three more rods.
Just as Nagi tried to move, the rod piercing his body interfered with his chakra flow. His movement slowed for a split second—more than enough.
The other three rods pierced through him as well.
Walking up to Nagi, Jigen looked down at him and said coldly,
"Surrender now. You'll suffer less that way."
Nagi only smiled faintly.
"That's hard to say."
Suddenly, blue light burst from his body.
In the next instant, his entire form turned into lightning and struck Jigen directly.
"A Lightning Release: Lightning Clone Technique, huh?"
The Kāma mark on Jigen's body began absorbing the lightning wrapped around him.
BOOM!
A thunderous roar echoed from above, forcing Jigen to look up.
The moment he did, his pupils shrank.
Nagi was floating in midair, red lightning flickering in his hand. But that wasn't the most shocking part.
At some unknown moment, towering cumulonimbus storm clouds had formed in the sky above him. Within those clouds, crimson lightning flickered again and again.
"Oh? So you noticed. But it doesn't matter… the lock-on is already complete."
A bad feeling rose in Jigen's chest. He quickly opened a portal—

A bolt of scarlet lightning slammed down right in front of him.
Jigen instinctively stepped back several paces.
"So fast…" he clicked his tongue. "That lightning is incredibly fast."
Nagi shaped the red lightning in his hand into a spear and hurled it toward the sky.
Instantly, the entire storm cloud transformed into a raging thunderstorm of crimson lightning.
With a swing of his right hand toward Jigen, the lightning in the storm cloud gathered together, then descended like the breath of a thunder dragon.
"Lightning Release: Lightning Breath!"
Jigen's pupils trembled violently.
He hurriedly forced the Kāma into its advanced state. But no matter how fast he was, he could not outrun lightning itself.
The gigantic pillar of lightning that seemed to pierce heaven and earth crashed directly onto him.
In an instant, red lightning engulfed his figure.
The ground of the Ancient Kingdom of Rōran collapsed under the overwhelming blast of thunder.
C (Darui's aide): "S-So powerful… that lightning!"

A shadow clone hidden somewhere beneath the underground ruins of Rōran suddenly dispelled itself.
An enormous surge of dark Yin Release chakra erupted from Nagi's body.
He quickly formed hand seals.

The green vapor instantly transformed into blue steam.
But he wasn't finished.
Nagi raised his right hand and pressed his thumb directly against his heart.
Rock Lee: "What?! Nagi is using the Eight Gates?!"
And he's opening more gates than I can?!
Might Guy: "Not good! From that stance, Nagi is about to open the Eighth Gate—the Gate of Death! Once it's used, the user dies!"
Naruto Uzumaki: "What?! Nagi, you—!"
Nagi: "Don't worry, Naruto. Against the Ōtsutsuki Clan, I know what I'm doing."
Madara Uchiha: "I see… So he stored Yin Release chakra beforehand using a shadow clone, then prepared Izanagi in advance with the Transcription Seal. That allows him to bypass the fatal consequence of the Gate of Death. A very clever combination."
Sasuke Uchiha: "...Good. As long as Nagi is safe."
