Chapter 246 -  Nagi vs. Obito (Round Three)

"WHAT?!"

Everyone present was shocked.

"Oh? You were actually able to detect me. I didn't expect Konoha to have someone as remarkable as you."

A ripple of space–time distortion suddenly appeared in one corner of the conference room.

Moments later, a man wearing a black cloak with red clouds and an orange spiral mask emerged.

Seeing him, the Raikage instantly activated his Lightning Release Armor.

"Lariat!"

With a burst of speed, A flashed forward and threw a devastating punch.

But Obito simply used Kamui, phasing through the attack before teleporting to another location.

At that moment, Kakashi, Temari, Chōjūrō, and the other Kage guards all rushed out from behind the curtain, ready for battle.

"Now, now—there's no need to be so impatient,"

Obito said calmly, completely fearless.

"Hmph! You're the one who tried to kidnap B, aren't you?! I won't forgive you!"

The Raikage charged again.

"Tsk… such a short temper."

Obito phased away with Kamui once more, this time appearing at a higher position.

Seeing that he couldn't land a hit, the Raikage temporarily stopped.

He wanted to see what trick the masked man was planning next.

Obito then declared in a dramatic tone:

"My name is—Uchiha Madara."

Hearing that name, Ōnoki trembled.

Memories from the past instantly flooded his mind.

The others were also shocked.

After all, the title "Ghost of the Uchiha" was infamous throughout the shinobi world.

But suddenly—

Nagi chuckled softly.

"Hmm?" ×N

Everyone looked toward him.

Obito also turned to stare at the unfamiliar man.

For some reason, he felt a strange sense of familiarity coming from him.

Nagi smiled faintly.

"Oh my… Mr. Madara still enjoys using that name, I see."

"I wonder if Tajima Uchiha would recognize you as his son."

"You—?! It's you!"

The moment he heard the name Tajima, Obito immediately realized who Nagi was.

"Hmm, it seems your memory is quite good, Mr. Madara."

"Hmph. I don't intend to waste words with you."

Now that Obito had already transplanted the Rinnegan, his confidence had surged once again.

He then began explaining the Ten-Tails, the Tailed Beasts, and the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

But just like in the original timeline, everyone present rejected his plan.

Nagi, however, fell into thought.

If humanity didn't end up turning into White Zetsu… and if there were no Ōtsutsuki invasion… perhaps the Infinite Tsukuyomi might not be such a bad option.

Finally, Obito declared:

"I hereby declare the start of the Fourth Great Ninja War."

Ōnoki frowned.

"The Fourth Great Ninja War? Are you serious?"

Obito ignored the question.

His gaze swept across the room before lingering on Kakashi for a moment.

"Next time we meet… it will be on the battlefield."

He activated Kamui, preparing to leave.

But suddenly—

A voice sounded behind him.

"Well now… arriving whenever you please and leaving whenever you like."

"Mr. Madara, that's hardly respectful toward such an important meeting."

"!!!"

Obito was startled.

Only now did he notice that Nagi had appeared behind him.

"When did he—?!"

"Well then… I suppose I'll give you a small punishment."

Nagi raised a finger.

In an instant, Obito felt a bone-chilling sense of danger.

He hurriedly activated Kamui to escape.

But—

BOOM!

A moment later, another spatial vortex opened nearby.

Obito suddenly reappeared—

But half of his body was gone.

The right side of his body had been completely destroyed, white fluid from the Hashirama Cells leaking from the wound.

"AAARGH!"

Obito screamed in pain.

"Damn it—Zetsu!"

"Understood."

"Spore Technique!"

Suddenly, strange white organisms appeared on everyone present.

Although confused, they were all experienced shinobi and quickly began removing the White Zetsu spores from their bodies.

Taking advantage of the chaos, Obito activated Kamui again and finally escaped.

After the Escape

Nagi glanced at the direction Obito had fled but did not pursue.

After all, the next step still required their involvement.

Once the White Zetsu spores were cleared, Ōnoki spoke again.

"In that case, forming the Shinobi Allied Forces is inevitable."

"As for the position of Supreme Commander… young man, I believe—"

Only now did Ōnoki realize that the young man before him already had the support of three Kage.

And judging by the Mizukage's lovestruck expression, she would probably support him too.

But Nagi smiled and said to Tsunade and the others,

"My apologies, but I cannot accept the position of Allied Forces Commander."

The Raikage frowned.

"Why not? Nagi, if you take the role, there shouldn't be any problems."

Nagi shook his head.

"I'm afraid I won't have the time."

"Because a being far more troublesome than 'Madara' will soon arrive."

"For the upcoming war… I likely won't be able to participate."

Hearing this, Ōnoki secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

But C looked serious.

"Nagi… just how strong is this enemy?"

Nagi replied solemnly,

"I estimate… that the Jashin Jashin isn't even on the same level as him."

"Gulp…" ×2

Darui and C swallowed nervously.

Even the Raikage widened his eyes in shock.

The destructive power of that Jashin a month ago was still vivid in their memories.

If the upcoming enemy was beyond even that…

They couldn't even imagine it.

"Nagi… this…"

"Yes. I believe he will descend during the Fourth Great Ninja War."

"Because I must deal with him, I cannot take the commander position."

The Raikage, Darui, and C nodded seriously.

"Understood."

"Please focus on preparing for that battle. Leave this war to us."

After all—

If they faced that unknown enemy themselves, even every ninja in the world combined probably wouldn't stand a chance.

Meanwhile, Tsunade and the others looked confused.

Jashin? Dimensions? What are they talking about?

At that moment, Ōnoki spoke again.

"Speaking of which, Raikage—let's set aside the commander issue for now."

"What happened to the Iwagakure support troops I sent to help you a month ago?"

"Support troops?"

The Raikage and his team looked completely confused.

Thinking they were pretending, Ōnoki said,

"A month ago, when your Land of Lightning suffered a natural disaster and your civilians evacuated to the Land of Earth, I sent troops to assist."

Suddenly—

Ōnoki felt a suffocating pressure.

Nagi smiled faintly.

"Oh my… I didn't expect the Tsuchikage to still remember that."

"But those 'support troops' you sent were probably planning to loot the place, weren't they?"

"And besides…"

"That unit you sent was basically food delivery for the Jashin."

(Ichiraku Ramen once received an order for delivery, after all.)

C immediately sensed something was wrong.

"Nagi… what happened?"

"C, do you remember when the Jashin's aura suddenly surged?"

"Yes… you said he becomes stronger by killing people. Wait—don't tell me—"

C, Darui, and the Raikage instantly realized the truth.

They turned to glare at Ōnoki.

So it turned out—

It was Iwagakure's troops that had unknowingly delivered a feast to the Jashin.
