Chapter 247 - Compensation for Emotional Damages

Ōnoki looked at the Raikage and the other two with a confused expression.

What's going on? I haven't even gotten angry yet—why are you three the ones raging?

The Raikage, A, could no longer hold himself back.

"Lariat!"

He threw a punch straight at Ōnoki.

"Earth Release: Weighted Stone Technique!"

Ōnoki reinforced his body with the technique and countered with a stone-infused punch.

Boom!

Ōnoki was blasted backward several meters, while A himself slid a few steps back.

C and Darui stepped forward as well, while Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi hurriedly moved to protect Ōnoki.

Tsunade and the others finally snapped out of their daze.

Why are they suddenly fighting?!

Ōnoki shouted angrily,

"Raikage! You detained my people, and now you're making trouble for no reason? You've gone too far!"

"'No reason,' my ass! Die!"

Seeing the situation escalate, Ōnoki clasped his hands together, forming a white translucent cube.

"Dust Release: Detachment of the Primitive World Technique!"

Nagi casually raised a finger and lightly tapped the air.

"Disintegrate."

Ōnoki's Dust Release vanished instantly.

"W-What?! What just—?!"

Ōnoki realized not only had his Dust Release disappeared, his body could no longer move either.

Nagi said calmly,

"Raikage, violence can solve problems… but sometimes you don't need violence to do it."

A blinked in confusion.

"What do you mean?"

C reacted immediately.

"I understand now, Raikage-sama."

"Emotional damages. Compensation."

"Oh… oh!"

Although Kumogakure had suffered severe destruction because of the Jashin (Jashin), the village had already been mostly rebuilt over the past month.

And thanks to Nagi's resurrection technique, there had been almost no casualties.

But compensation for emotional damages still had to be paid.

C then briefly explained the matter regarding Jashin. However, regarding Nagi's involvement, he simplified the story somewhat according to Nagi's request.

"WHAT?!"

Ōnoki exploded in rage after reading the terms written by C.

"Iwagakure has to compensate Kumogakure 1 billion ryō, and pay 2 billion ryō to Nagi personally?! Why don't you just rob us instead?!"

Darui replied calmly,

"We could. But if we did, the amount we take might be more than three billion."

C added,

"Tsuchikage-sama, it was clearly your side that tried to take advantage of the chaos. Your people ended up getting themselves killed, which only made dealing with the Jashin harder for Nagi and us.

And we've already given you a pretty generous discount."

"You—!"

A suddenly slapped Ōnoki's shiny bald head.

"What 'you'? Don't forget your life is in our hands right now. I could kill you with one slap."

"You—!"

Ōnoki was furious beyond words.

But he truly couldn't move right now. Even Kurotsuchi and Akatsuchi were immobilized.

"Hmph. Even if you kill us, so what? Iwagakure will never let you go!"

Nagi smiled gently.

"You're right. After all, when you cut weeds, you remove the roots."

"In that case, we might as well erase Iwagakure from the map entirely."

"!!!"

Ōnoki and the other two widened their eyes.

Just from C's description earlier, he already knew that the person before them was someone they absolutely couldn't afford to provoke.

As for whether that story had been fabricated?

Heh.

The Raikage's attitude alone was the strongest proof.

For Nagi, destroying Iwagakure might not be difficult at all.

Realizing this, cold sweat streamed down Ōnoki's face.

His own death didn't matter.

But if Iwagakure were destroyed over a few billion ryō, he would have no face to meet his teacher Mū in the afterlife.

Thinking this, Ōnoki finally deflated.

"I understand… I will provide the compensation."

Seeing this, Nagi released the restraints on the three of them.

Feeling control return to his body, Ōnoki let out a long sigh of relief.

But afterward, he seemed to age several more years.

Sigh…

They had come here to demand people and compensation.

Instead, they ended up losing billions themselves.

At that moment, Gaara spoke.

"In that case, why not let the Hokage serve as the Supreme Commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces?"

A nodded.

"Fine. I have no objections."

Mei Terumī added,

"I agree."

Ōnoki said weakly,

"I… have no objections."

Mifune nodded.

"Very well. Then the position of Supreme Commander of the Allied Shinobi Forces will be held by Hokage Tsunade."

After discussing a few more matters regarding the Allied Forces, the meeting finally concluded.

Since the Raikage planned to visit Konoha, he left together with Nagi and the others.

However, after walking some distance out of the Land of Iron—

"Hm?"

They noticed that the Mizukage was following behind them.

Tsunade asked,

"Mizukage, do you need something?"

Mei Terumī seemed to realize something and coughed awkwardly.

"Ahem… nothing. Just heading in the same direction."

"..."

The Land of Fire was to the west.

The Land of Water was to the southeast.

And she said it was the same direction?

Did she really think anyone would believe that?

"Mizukage-sama!"

Ao and Chōjūrō hurried over.

"We only looked away for a moment and you ran off again!"

Mei Terumī waved casually.

"Oh my, I was just checking on a promising junior."

Then she looked at Nagi.

"Ahem… Nagi is really impressive for someone so young. And so handsome too. I bet a lot of girls like you, right?"

Tsunade and the others were speechless.

What an old-fashioned way to start a conversation…

Mei Terumī continued seriously,

"So… do you happen to have a girlfriend?"

Nagi smiled and nodded.

"Yes."

"NOOOOO—"

"Snowflakes drift, the north wind blows…"

The moment she heard the answer, Mei Terumī's heart seemed to stop.

The light vanished from her eyes as if the sky had collapsed.

Ao coughed awkwardly.

"Ahem… our Mizukage-sama has this old condition. Please don't mind it."

Nagi and the others nodded.

"Then we'll be going."

Suddenly, a massive Wood Dragon soared into the air, carrying Nagi and the others toward Konoha.

"T-Th-That's Wood Release?!"

"Incredible!"

Ao and Chōjūrō were completely dumbfounded.

Now they had no choice but to believe everything C had said.

Just the ability to instantly create a Wood Dragon several times larger than a Tailed Beast was already far beyond anything they could contend with.

Although they had seen it once before, Tsunade and Kakashi were still somewhat surprised when seeing it again.

As for the Raikage's group, they were relatively calm.

Compared to the thousand-meter Jashin, this two-hundred-meter Wood Dragon really wasn't that impressive.

Konoha

At the village gates, Kotetsu Hagane and Izumo Kamizuki were reviewing documents for travelers entering and leaving the village.

Suddenly, they noticed something strange in the distant sky.

Moments later, the Wood Dragon descended from the clouds.

The two gate guards quickly realized what was happening.

"It's Lady Tsunade and the others!"

"Yeah."

The Wood Dragon slowly landed.

Tsunade stepped onto the ground and joked,

"Not bad. Traveling on your Wood Dragon is really convenient. Maybe next time we attend an international summit, we'll just hitch a ride with you."

Nagi replied,

"Alright, but you should take the Raikage and the others where they need to go first."

With that, Nagi headed toward the Uchiha Clan district.

Meanwhile, Tsunade brought the Raikage's group to the Hyūga Clan compound.

Once they arrived, C returned Hizashi Hyūga's body to Hiashi Hyūga.

The Raikage also personally apologized to Hiashi.

Hiashi nodded solemnly for the sake of the bigger picture.

Then he carried Hizashi's body and walked into the inner courtyard, his back heavy with grief and loneliness.
