Chapter 31 - I Am Deadpool

Among the various rewards Leon had received over the past month, the one he appreciated most was the Ultra-Elastic Fiber Undergarment he had signed in after encountering Dr. Bruce Banner.

Indestructible.

That single attribute alone qualified it as divine-tier equipment in Leon's mind. Add to that its flawless structural protection, and it became nothing short of legendary.

At present, the toughest thing on Leon's body was that pair of shorts.

Now that he had finally drawn something worthwhile—

And with the Regeneration Cradle in hand ahead of schedule—

Leon immediately began formulating a comprehensive enhancement plan for himself.

Unfortunately, in contemplating its potential, he made the same mistake Tony often did.

He inadvertently left Dr. Helen Cho standing there while he drifted into deep thought.

Helen, however, didn't seem offended.

If anything, she looked… quietly pleased?

She stole a glance at him.

Lowered her head.

Peeked again.

After several attempts and no reaction from Leon, she gradually grew bolder.

Until—

Sharon Carter entered the office.

Today, her stockings had changed from black to a natural shade.

Helen let out a tiny embarrassed sound and quickly lowered her head again.

This time, Leon noticed.

Interesting.

He smiled faintly.

"Sharon," Leon said, gesturing her over. "I'm establishing an independent division dedicated to 3D bioprinting research. Dr. Cho will head it."

"Coordinate staffing and transfer resources immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Stark."

Sharon left promptly to make arrangements.

Leon had no intention of publicly revealing that he already possessed a completed Regeneration Cradle.

Aside from emergency use for himself or someone close to him, it would remain hidden.

After all, the technology was still Helen's research focus. If he suddenly unveiled a finished version, questions about its origin would be unavoidable.

This was her life's work.

She deserved to complete it herself.

Of course—

If the researcher had been someone less brilliant—or less compelling—his approach might have differed.

"Mr. Stark… thank you for believing in me," Helen said earnestly. "I'll devote everything I have to completing the Regeneration Cradle."

"I won't disappoint you."

"I know you won't."

Leon stepped closer, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

Then he leaned slightly nearer and lowered his voice.

"If you need anything—anything at all—come to me directly."

"Don't underestimate yourself, Helen. In my eyes, you're every bit Tony's equal."

"You have that kind of value."

"You deserve recognition."

Helen's face flushed bright red.

"I'm not that amazing…"

"Well," she stammered nervously, "today happens to be my birthday, and I was wondering if you might—"

She froze.

"Ah! That's not what I meant!"

"I—I meant, I'm your fan. Could I… get your autograph?"

Flustered, she hurriedly produced a photo of Leon in his Soldier Boy suit—his Homelander persona—and held it out with both hands.

"Of course."

Leon signed it smoothly.

Helen bowed repeatedly and made a hasty retreat, practically teleporting out of the room in embarrassment.

"Ah, youth," Leon murmured with a faint smile.

After a moment, his expression shifted.

Time for business.

"Arcee," he said quietly. "How far are we from South Sudan?"

"Approximately twelve thousand kilometers," Arcee's composed voice replied through his earpiece.

Leon calculated briefly.

At his current speed, round trip—roughly two and a half hours.

Plenty of time.

Africa – South Sudan – Abandoned River Port

What had once been a massive inland river channel had dried into a vast expanse of cracked mud and rusted wreckage.

Beached cruise ships lay corroding in the heat.

Now it served as the headquarters of Ulysses Klaue, black-market Vibranium smuggler.

Vibranium was rare and difficult to acquire, so Klaue diversified—arms trafficking, contraband, anything profitable.

Today, however—

He had a visitor.

A buyer demanding all of his Vibranium.

For free.

Music thundered across the empty dock.

A figure in a red-and-black combat suit strode forward, twin blades strapped across his back.

Leon.

Wearing the Super Deadpool Suit.

Carbonadium alloy twin swords gleamed over his shoulders.

"Zero dollars?" Klaue sneered. "You didn't think to ask around what happens to people who try to rob me?"

Leon shifted into an exaggerated pigeon-toed stance, swaying dramatically.

"Ooooh~ I'm so scared~"

His voice dripped with mockery.

Klaue's eye twitched.

"He's unarmed! Take him alive! I'll deal with this clown personally!"

His men charged—knives, knuckle-dusters, spiked bats.

Leon allowed himself to be swallowed by the crowd.

Then—

"Starburst Stream!"

Blades flashed.

The abandoned ship trembled.

Limbs scattered outward in a brutal arc.

Each strike felled multiple men.

It wasn't a fight.

It was slaughter.

Someone tried to fire a weapon—

Leon cleaved both rifle and wielder in half.

Within moments, dozens lay dead.

Klaue paled.

"Shit! He's enhanced!"

"Shoot him!"

He grabbed an AR-15 and opened fire.

Leon advanced calmly, deflecting bullets with twin blades.

Metal rang.

At first, Klaue thought Leon was blocking every shot.

Then he noticed—

The suit tearing.

Repairing.

Tearing again.

Bullets were hitting.

They simply didn't matter.

"What are you?!" Klaue shouted.

Leon tilted his masked head.

"I am Deadpool."

He stopped directly in front of Klaue.

The remaining men either lay in pieces—or were pretending to be corpses.

Leon rested a blade against Klaue's throat.

"Vibranium."

Klaue swallowed hard.

"Take it! Take it all!"
