Chapter 37 - First World Jump & Leon: “System, What the Hell?!”

'The Boys World Travel Card? What kind of trash reward is that—'

Leon instinctively sneered—

Then froze.

"Holy shit."

"Homelander, daddy's coming for you!"

"…What?"

"You have a child?!"

The commotion jolted Helen awake. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she caught only one phrase—

Daddy's coming.

Her drowsiness vanished instantly.

"There's no child," Leon replied smoothly. "I just dreamed that we had one. Named… John."

(He wisely did not say "Homelander.")

"Our child?"

Helen's face turned scarlet.

She had only just turned twenty. Bold in love, yes—but motherhood had never crossed her mind.

What if Leon actually wanted kids?

She'd heard childbirth was excruciating.

"Leon, I…"

He silenced her gently with a kiss.

"Helen. It was just a dream. I've told you before—your safety matters more to me than anything."

"Mmm…"

She melted against his chest and soon drifted back to sleep.

The next day—

After explaining to Helen that he would be "away for a while," Leon headed to Stark Tower to give Tony and Pepper the same speech.

"So now you don't even stay home?" Tony teased. "Next time, are you leaving Earth entirely?"

"When you come back, should I say, 'This marriage is over, don't bother coming back, there's no place for you in this house'?"

"Get out of here."

"If I'm not around, this family falls apart."

Leon said it jokingly—

But he meant it.

He would never accept a future where Tony wasn't alive.

A world without Tony Stark had no value.

So—

You don't want Pepper to become a widow, right… big brother?

The thought lingered quietly.

Leon bumped fists with Tony.

"I've got real business this time. Long trip. I'll bring back some… local specialties."

"You'll love them."

He sounded confident.

Because no man could resist superpowers.

If he brought back samples of Compound V and let Tony and Bruce Banner study it—

With their combined genius, a perfected, side-effect-free version was practically guaranteed.

Pepper.

Helen.

Everyone he cared about—

A superhuman starter pack each.

Perfect.

[...]

"Pepper, don't miss me too much."

"Who'd miss you, you little menace."

Pepper said it lightly—but her hand lingered around his.

She had a bad feeling.

Leon kissed her cheek reassuringly.

"You know how strong I am now. There's no one in that place who can hurt me."

Finally, he turned to Sharon Carter, who had obediently adopted black stockings and pencil skirts as her "executive uniform."

"Kate. Keep working hard. I'll be auditing when I return."

"I will, Mr. Leon," she replied elegantly. "Everything will be perfectly arranged for your inspection."

After finishing all arrangements—

Leon rose slowly into the sky under their watchful eyes.

Then—

A lateral burst of speed.

Gone.

Deep beneath the Pacific Ocean.

The place where he had once nearly died.

No light.

No sound.

Only crushing darkness.

Leon stood calmly under immense pressure, unaffected by the deep-sea environment.

He removed the The Boys World Travel Card from his System Storage Space.

Crushed it.

Activated.

[Notification: "The Boys World Travel Card" has been used. Physical transfer will commence in ten seconds. Please prepare yourself mentally.]

'Prepare mentally? For what?'

He didn't understand.

Until the countdown ended.

BAM—!!!

It felt like someone had smashed him in the back of the head with a cosmic sledgehammer.

Even with his terrifying durability—

Leon was knocked unconscious instantly.

Possibly the greatest "physical" damage he had taken since acquiring the System.

If that even counted as physical.

A flash of white light engulfed him.

'System, what the hell?!'

The Boys Universe – Overview

The Boys is essentially a hyper-violent, R-rated deconstruction of superhero mythology—drawing heavily from Marvel and DC archetypes.

Decades ago, Vought International created Compound V, a serum capable of artificially producing superpowered individuals.

As a result, this world became one where superhumans and civilians coexist.

At the top of the hierarchy stands Vought's premier superhero team—

The Seven.

Publicly, they serve as government-affiliated vigilantes.

Privately, they are marketed as global celebrity idols.

But beneath their shining image—

They are deeply corrupt.

Compound V not only grants powers—it amplifies desire.

Ego.

Cruelty.

Vice.

Whenever members of The Seven cause catastrophic incidents—

Vought steps in to clean up the mess.

Because The Seven generate immeasurable profit.

They cannot fall.

Heroes may die gloriously—

But they may never be exposed.

There is no scandal.

Only martyrdom.

Until—

A-Train, high on Compound V-enhanced adrenaline, accidentally ran through Robin Ward, girlfriend of Hughie Campbell—

Leaving behind only her hands.

Vought's public relations machine issued apologies.

Hughie saw only hypocrisy.

And into that anger stepped a man named—

Billy Butcher.

Thus begins the story of The Boys.
