Chapter 135 - Curtain Call

The battle between Leon, God of Battle, and Diana, the newly ascended God of War, was… intense.

Countless lives were created.

Countless lives were destroyed.

In the end, experience prevailed.

Leon won.

Diana was launched into space dozens of times—

—and fell back to earth dozens of times more.

Even after her third awakening, the accumulated kinetic force of repeated orbital impacts eventually overwhelmed her.

She lost consciousness mid-fall.

When Leon returned to the ruins of the German High Command, carrying Diana in a princess hold, Steve Trevor and the others were huddled around a fire for warmth.

Nearby—

Dr. Maru was tied up in an extremely elaborate rope configuration, complete with a gag.

No one asked where Steve found it.

"Boss!"

Steve waved enthusiastically.

"You lot are bold," Leon remarked casually. "Not worried a stray German unit might surround you?"

He handed the unconscious Diana over to Arcee·A2 and 2B, then walked over.

"Did you get the toxin and enhancement serum formulas?"

Steve scratched his head awkwardly.

"Sorry… she's stubborn."

"Is she?"

Leon raised a brow and extended a hand.

In maid form, Bast gracefully removed the Lasso of Truth from Diana's belt and handed it to him.

The four men gulped in unison.

Bast was breathtaking.

And terrifying.

Cold in a way Diana never was.

They had no idea how obedient she became when alone with Leon.

Leon looped the Lasso around Dr. Maru's neck.

Within seconds, the complete formulas for the new gas and the performance-enhancing compound spilled out.

He was particularly interested in the latter.

Temporary though it was—

Tony might refine it into something permanent.

Once finished—

Leon fired a concentrated photon shockwave.

Dr. Maru ceased to exist.

Some talents were better returned to Death's embrace.

With Sir Patrick Morgan dead and German leadership decapitated, the armistice collapsed temporarily.

Germany descended into chaos.

But before civil fragmentation could ignite—

Leon and Diana intervened.

Their combined presence stabilized the collapse.

After four years of global bloodshed—

World War I finally ended.

The final battlefield carried poetic irony—

The village beside Veld's No Man's Land—the one Diana had first wished to save.

Behind them lay an overturned A7V heavy tank.

Leon and Diana stood at the center.

Bast—now in compact feline form—lounged on Leon's shoulder.

Arcee·A2 and 2B stood slightly behind him.

On the other side—

Steve, Sameer, Charlie, and the Chief.

Flash.

The black-and-white photograph captured the moment.

A secret no one would believe.

One day—

It would serve as proof when a certain masked old man came looking for powerful allies.

London docks.

The city celebrated peace.

Leon and Diana boarded the small Amazonian wooden boat.

Steve and the others stood at shore, waving.

"Boss… do you have to go?"

Leon smirked.

"What? Planning to support me?"

"…I could try."

"Get lost."

Leon flicked a hand.

A gust knocked Steve flat.

Beneath the water—

2B piloted Arcee (Motorcycle Mode), towing the small boat toward the destination marked by Leon's Coordinate Authority Lv.1.

Why tow the boat instead of riding directly?

Convenience.

"Will we meet again?" Steve called out.

"When you infiltrate your way into becoming President of America."

Leon answered offhandedly, back turned, as he and Diana disappeared into the sunset.

"President… of America…"

Steve stared at the horizon.

Themyscira.

With Leon's Bio-Field shielding the vessel, the small boat crossed oceans in mere hours.

(Arcee intentionally moderated speed—so Diana could fully "enjoy" the journey.)

They passed through Zeus' mist barrier.

Paradise opened before them.

Themyscira lay like a sleeping beauty upon the sea.

Queen Hippolyta and General Antiope were already waiting, Amazons assembled behind them.

"Mother! We did it!"

Diana rushed into Hippolyta's embrace.

Leon followed, summarizing their journey and Ares' defeat.

"So… Diana… you have become…"

Hippolyta cupped her daughter's face, worry evident.

Of all possible futures—

She had never imagined this one.

Diana—

Now the God of War.

Was this—

Fate?
