Chapter 136 -  Every Farewell Is for a Better Reunion

"Leon, fight me!"

After learning that Leon possessed the strength to utterly overwhelm Ares, General Antiope's warrior spirit flared to life.

Without caring about the occasion, she bent her knees and launched herself more than ten meters into the air, descending with a crushing elbow strike aimed straight at Leon.

"Sure."

Leon smiled faintly, flexed his knuckles—then casually swung his hand.

Bang!

Before anyone could react, Antiope had already been blasted into a distant rock wall, embedded in it in the shape of a giant "X."

If power had to be displayed, then naturally, one should pick the strongest target.

And Antiope—the fearless, battle-hungry general—suited Leon's purposes perfectly.

That single move silenced any lingering suspicion among the Amazons that Leon might merely be living off Diana's reputation.

The warriors of Themyscira revered strength above all else.

And so they erupted into cheers, offering Leon their highest respect.

"Leon!"

"Leon!!"

"Leon!!!"

"Hahahahaha!"

Leon spread his arms wide, flashing a radiant, almost divine smile as he hovered in the air before slowly descending into the crowd of Amazons, basking shamelessly in their admiration and devotion.

Loves attention. Enjoys worship. Absolute confidence born of overwhelming power… He truly behaves like a god, Queen Hippolyta thought, shaking her head with mild resignation.

At least Diana was more than satisfied—with Leon in every sense.

As her mother, Hippolyta had nothing to object to.

In the days that followed, Leon remained on Themyscira.

He sparred with Diana, taught her various disciplines, explored new "routes" and "paths" with her, and most importantly, trained her in advanced divine abilities—flight and teleportation.

Teleportation, in particular, obsessed him.

It was a power he had long coveted but never possessed.

Ares had been too proud to flee using teleportation.

Leon had no such misplaced pride.

Neither did Diana.

If Diana mastered teleportation, her safety would be vastly improved. Only then could Leon leave in peace to handle matters in his own world.

"Nice!"

"That's it!"

"Hold on to that feeling!"

"Now rise—fly!"

Thunder roared.

Leon summoned a raging storm above Themyscira. Dark clouds churned as lightning cracked across the sky. With the wind-up motion of Leon's Grip, he hurled Diana skyward with immense force.

Crackle!

Violet lightning converged around her. She cast the Lasso of Truth toward the bolts, using them as anchors—swinging through the storm like Spider-Man across Manhattan's skyline.

As she grew more familiar with her lightning-born power, she gradually became immune to its paralysis. Her resistance to lightning-based attacks rose dramatically.

But that alone was not enough.

Diana needed to free herself from reliance on external forces like clouds and lightning. She had inherited divine power from Zeus—yet if all she could do was rely on brute strength, it would be a tragic waste.

Over these days, Leon had drawn upon the divine energy surging within Diana.

And Diana had absorbed the divine energy radiating from Leon.

It felt almost like stepping on one's own foot to climb into the sky.

Leon flew beside her, offering constant encouragement. Even when she failed, it didn't matter—he would catch her. Every time.

A warrior who had lived for thousands of years did not lack the courage to begin again.

Finally—

After countless failures, Diana released the Lasso of Truth.

This time, relying on nothing but herself, she steadied midair and rose alongside Leon, flying in perfect parallel.

Near the sea's surface, dozens of dolphins leapt from the water, chasing after them as if inviting them to play.

Diana smiled softly and slowed her speed, matching the dolphins' rhythm—soaring through the sky one moment, gliding across the sea the next.

After learning to fly, she felt freer than ever before.

And more than that—

By her side was someone she could lean on whenever she chose to stop.

Two sources of boundless joy intertwined, and in that moment, Diana believed herself to be the happiest person in the world.

But—

That dreamlike happiness soon came to an end.

"Diana… I can feel my master calling me."

At the peak of Themyscira, Leon halted his training guidance. He cupped Diana's sweat-dampened, beautiful face, brushing aside strands of hair clinging to her cheeks.

"You're leaving?"

Her fatigue-fogged eyes cleared instantly. She looked at him with unmistakable reluctance.

During the battle with Ares, she had heard his speculation about Leon's origins. She had known this day would come.

Even so—

A tremor of panic stirred within her.

Was she truly prepared to part from him?

The answer was no.

She did not ask the foolish question—Can I go with you?

If it were possible, Leon would have already moved heaven and earth to take her with him.

So she merely gave a quiet, subdued hum of acknowledgment.

Hippolyta had once taught her: if you wish to hold a man's heart, you cannot hold him too tightly.

A little distance keeps love fresh.

Otherwise…

Diana wasn't sure how she would endure Leon's relentless "training regimens" day after day. Though the process and results were both undeniably… satisfying—his bottomless stamina was admittedly terrifying.

"When will you return?"

Diana, entirely unselfconscious in her current state of undress, helped Leon put on his clothes, adjusting his collar as she asked.

"Perhaps a week. Perhaps a month. Perhaps a year… ten years… even a hundred."

It all depended on how the System responded. He could not promise her certainty.

"At least say goodbye to Mother and the others."

She wanted just a little more time with him.

"Of course."

Leon nodded.

After dressing Diana in her Amazon battle armor and skirt, they flew together toward the royal hall.

He embraced Hippolyta, Antiope, and the others in farewell.

Then Aionsega manifested of its own accord, unfolding into the War God Armor that encased Leon's body.

He looked at Diana one last time.

No words were needed.

Then he shot into the heavens.

In the blink of an eye, he vanished beyond the horizon.

Diana turned and buried herself in Hippolyta's embrace.

"Mother…"

"Diana, you are both still young. As gods, your lives are near-eternal. Even a hundred years is but a fleeting moment. Do not grieve."

"This farewell…

is only for a better reunion."

"…Mm."

Diana nodded softly and made a silent vow.

Before Leon returned, she would fully master Ares' teleportation and telekinesis—

And the shared power inherited from Zeus: control over thunder and storm.

As Ares had once said—

There was still much for her to learn.
