"Take them…" said Dane as his head peeked out from the portal in front of Kael and Allocen. Behind them, the countless zombies were about to reach them. Allocen, the moment the creature summoned by Dane rushed toward them, summoned the golem from the ground to block it.
After that, multiple spikes emerged from the ground to hit the zombies. As holes appeared in their bodies, they didn't stop moving, they kept walking slowly.
"Oh boss, using this many? Did they make you mad or what?" said Dane as he noticed the multiple zombies walking. The creature, who was called the Spider Head, rushed really fast toward the humans. As the golem was summoned, they bumped against each other. The spikes weren't enough to stop the zombies, in fact, they kept walking, not minding the spikes.
Kael, who hadn't moved a bit because he was too shocked, returned to help Allocen. "Reverse field!!" Suddenly the gravity around the zombies became weaker and they started to float around. "Mass Blade!" Kael created another strong spell, now directed toward the Spider Head and Allocen's golem. Both of them fell under the weight of the gravity.
After that, Kael immediately made the gravity for the golem return to normal, so now only the Spider Head was suffering. Thanks to that, Allocen's golem was able to press harder against the enemy, smashing it into the hole. Allocen created multiple spikes to hit the enemy too. As the spikes arrived and pierced the skin of the enemy, nothing happened, this creature regenerated almost immediately. It was useless.
"Don't worry, boss," said Dane as he walked around the battlefield to reach his boss. Kael and Allocen were both distracted and couldn't see him. Gyardibus was clearly annoyed by the fact that his statues were flying around the battlefield because of the low gravity. "Don't waste your statues like that… let me take care of it," added Dane. All the humans turned their attention to him as a blue portal opened right under the Spider Head. As it entered, it disappeared immediately.
The portal opened again on top of the golem's head and fell directly on it. The golem, ready for that, threw a punch directly at the creature, who was sent to the roof. "Go away, Allocen!!" shouted Kael. Allocen understood and moved away. Suddenly, the gravity for the Spider Head became ten times stronger, and it fell extremely fast on the floor. The golem had already moved away and waited for the enemy to crash into the ground.
While all of this happened, Gyardibus made the zombies disappear and calmed himself, watching the fight going on. "I'll still send them three statues," said Gyardibus as three zombies were summoned, they rushed toward the group. As the Spider Head was falling, Allocen's golem punched it just before it was about to touch the ground.
As the Spider Head went flying, because the punch was really strong, a new blue portal appeared behind her. Suddenly she disappeared again. The portal was opened once again on top of their heads; Allocen looked directly over it and the golem was able to block it with his own hands. While all of this was happening, "Mass Blade!", the gravity reached both the zombies. Dane and Gyardibus were hit too, their bodies falling to the ground.
Suddenly, the moment Dane got hit, the Spider Head immediately turned toward him. She was able to free herself from the hands of the golem who held her tightly. To free herself, she bit the hands of the golem and literally destroyed them. Thanks to that, she immediately rushed toward Kael, understanding that he was the one causing pain to her master.
"Attention, Kael!!" shouted Allocen. Kael didn't even move, he simply whispered something. "Reverse field…" Suddenly the gravity around him became weaker, and as the Spider Head's claw was about to hit Kael, her body started to fly up.
Kael, understanding that his plan worked, looked up and smiled. He saw the face of the Spider Head as she tried to move her claw to hit Kael, but it didn't work. "Go, Allocen," said Kael. Suddenly Allocen's golem jumped high and punched the monster. A hole opened in its body, and Kael removed the gravity, making it fall to the ground.
As he turned to glance at the others, he saw that Dane was not worried at all, in fact, he had his usual amused expression all this time. Kael felt uneasy and the magic disappeared from the enemies. The zombies fell on the ground, their bodies still intact.
"It's not over yet!!" shouted Allocen as he created multiple spikes from the ground near the Spider Head. Suddenly, the hole in her body completely healed and she could move freely again.
"How… we did everything we could…" whispered Kael, scared. He took a few steps back, getting closer to Allocen. Dane and Gyardibus brushed the dirt off their clothes.
"Do you think that was enough?" said Dane, amused to see the desperation in Kael's eyes, whose body had just started bleeding. Dane's body was even worse, his eyes had turned black and his whole body was dripping blood from multiple scratches. Allocen sent his golem toward the Spider Head to give it a distraction, while the zombies remained next to Gyardibus.
"You should end this fast; your soul won't resist longer," whispered Gyardibus to Dane. He nodded. "Don't worry, I'll finish this now," said Dane as he turned toward Kael. Suddenly, a portal appeared behind the creature, who disappeared in front of Allocen's golem.
The portal opened right behind Kael and one of the claws hit Kael on his back, making him fall with a huge scratch. Blood poured out really fast and ended up on the creature's face. The Spider Head licked all around her face with a really long tongue.
Allocen's golem went directly over the Spider Head and punched it. Allocen leaned over Kael and grabbed him. "Is that creature from another dimension or what?" asked Allocen. Dane didn't change his amused expression and looked directly at Allocen, while behind him his golem and the enemy creature were fighting.
"That's right! How could you tell?" asked Dane as he walked closer. Allocen, on his knee, looked at the person approaching him. "Just a guess, something like that shouldn't even exist in our world," answered Allocen as he looked behind toward the creature and how it moved.
"Exactly! Before I was even born, I was asked to make a pact with a creature. I found myself in this weird room… in front of me there were countless monsters like her," said Dane as he started to tell his story from before he was born. He could clearly remember it like it was yesterday. In fact, he was able to think properly without any problem, it didn't feel like he hadn't even been born yet.
In this room, there were so many monsters… one of them was like a big eye with wings. They were really weird in their own way. "They were all immortal… but I chose this one because it looked cooler," finished Dane as he looked directly at the creature with his hands in his pockets. He felt somewhat proud. Suddenly, his whole vision became blurry and he fell on one knee. "Oh, I guess I reached my limit… well, boss, I'm leaving this to you," said Dane as the boss appeared behind him with the three zombies.
"Come back… you did enough," whispered Dane as a portal appeared under the Spider Head. She returned to her dimension and didn't appear again. "Well, I guess you two will become good statues for my collection," said Gyardibus as the three zombies rushed toward Allocen, who remained still. Right before the zombies were about to hit him, he and Kael were sent underground and traveled directly under the head of the golem. In the place where Allocen disappeared, some black spikes were left, and they were draining the strength of the zombies.
"Go," said Allocen calmly. The golem started to rush toward the base. Some black spikes were under the golem's feet, and while it ran toward the base, the black spikes remained on the floor. While the black spikes drained some strength from the golem, they helped them escape.
"Boss, is there some zombie that we can send directly toward them in the city?" asked Dane as he checked the black spikes. They were weird, it felt like they were draining his own energy. Gyardibus nodded. "Octavia just grabbed one… she isn't far, I'll make it move," said Gyardibus. Suddenly, as Octavia was getting closer to the base, the statue started to move.
"Is the boss doing something?" thought her as she went on the ground and left the statue on the floor. Suddenly, it came to life and started to move freely. "I'll leave it to you, I'm returning to the base," said Octavia as, with the fire under her feet, she ran away.
Gyardibus remained with his eyes closed; he was only focusing on controlling the zombie so that it could move really fast and reach the two humans in under a minute.
As Allocen got closer to the base, he removed the golem. His body had just started to bleed and he was breathing heavily. He had Kael on his shoulder, who was probably unconscious. Suddenly, behind him appeared the zombie.
"They are close… I must reach them…" whispered Allocen as he turned around the corner and noticed the Veilguards. It seemed like Darian, Vane, and Liro had just returned too. Suddenly they turned toward him.
"And so this is the story that happened…" said Allocen as he finished telling the story. 'I had to invent something… they can't know the truth about it…' thought him as he looked over his hand. While he narrated the story, he cut off some parts and replaced them with something that could be believed.
Alerya remained serious in her expression. "Ok, so their base might not be here in the cave, right?" asked her. Allocen nodded. "We were about to check everything, but they interrupted us…" said him. Suddenly Alerya got up from the chair. Darian was sitting on the sofa right in front of Allocen, Snowy curled up on top of his lap.
As Alerya was about to speak, Vane returned from the hospital. "Hey, I was freezing outside this building… Darian, did you do something?" asked him as he sat down next to Darian. He nodded.
"I was able to kill one of those zombies before…" said him. Everyone paid attention to him. "You killed them? What did you do?" asked Allocen. 'I remember even hitting them with the black spikes but they didn't even flinch…' thought Allocen as he kept his eyes on Darian.
"I used the low temperature my power can create… plants can't survive high temperatures, but it was extremely low for a human to survive. I can't use it with you around," said him. He then started to tell everyone that the temperature his body could reach was not even normal for a human, and that when he released the cold, all living creatures around him died.
"Mhmm… I understand. Now you should all go to rest. Tomorrow I will come and help you in the fight," said Alerya. Everyone nodded and returned to their rooms, all extremely tired because of the fight that happened that day.
