Fire appeared under Octavia's feet and she immediately rushed towards Darian and Vane. "Come Snowy!" shouted Darian as Snowy leapt into his arm and fused with him. Vane turned into a polar bear and put himself in front of Darian; he was about to block Octavia's feet. As the feet moved towards them, Vane blocked them. Octavia tried to push harder with her leg, trying to break into Vane's defense.
Darian rushed around and positioned himself on the right of Octavia, who looked over at him with anger in her eyes. "Ice shardss!" Darian created multiple ice shards that went directly at Octavia, who created a fireball in her right hand and sent it directly towards Darian, smashing all the shards. Darian jumped back to dodge that; as the fireball landed on the ground, smoke appeared on the battlefield.
"I can't see anything…" said Darian as he landed down. He couldn't see anything, so he waited and remained alert. Inside the smoke, Octavia made the fire under her feet even stronger. "Ouch!" shouted Vane as the fire became too strong. Octavia was able to break into his defense and she landed with her feet on top of Vane's stomach, making his body crash onto the ground.
"I'll help you!! Ice armor!!" shouted Darian. After the armor on his body was created, he rushed directly toward the sound of the scream. As the smoke went away, Octavia looked directly at Darian and made a wheel with her body; the fire under her feet came in contact with Darian's armor.
As she landed behind, leaving a trail of fire around, "Radial freezee!" Darian created under his feet a path of ice, right on top of Vane who was still lying on the ground. Thanks to this ice, the armor's shards didn't hit Vane.
Darian created a long path for himself, so he slid around really fast. Octavia could not react as she saw Darian sliding down on ice and casting multiple ice shards toward her. Octavia created a fire wall right in front of her which melted all the shards.
'That is still fire… I need to get closer to actually try to hit her,' thought Darian as he stopped sliding and started to run around the fire wall. In the houses, the people from the windows looked over this huge wall of fire and felt scared; most of them were trembling in fear. The children were scared, while the mothers could do anything to defend them.
As Octavia raised the wall, they sighed in relief, but in that exact moment Vane rushed in the form of the buffalo, his horns starting to pierce into Octavia's skin. "ARGH!!" shouted Octavia in pain. She created fire under her feet and threw a powerful kick at Vane.
"THAT WON'T WORK!!" Vane hardened his body. As Octavia kicked right into his stomach, her feet could not go deeper; in fact, Vane was still there and he wasn't stopping. "Huh?" Octavia at first looked confused, then with blood dripping down, she created more fire under her feet. Vane was now suffering more, both because of the kick and especially because of the heat. Around them it was really hot, also because the wall was still there.
While Octavia, like any other fire mage, didn't suffer the heat, Vane suffered it and was slowly losing strength. "I'll help you!" suddenly Darian appeared again and he created a single powerful shard. None of them had noticed him before, so he had all the time to create a really strong shard that wasn't going to be melted by the fire.
"I'll give her to you, Darian," said Vane as he turned into an eagle and flew away. Octavia lost balance and saw the huge shard rushing towards her at extreme speed. As the shard got closer, it lost height; some ice melted and it became smaller. 'How the hell is that thing becoming smaller…' thought Octavia as she raised another fire wall in front of her; it completely melted the shard.
Vane was still an eagle; he got next to Darian and remained close to him. "Attention… she might arrive," said him. The right moment he finished the sentence, both the fire wall disappeared and Octavia came out from it, kicking her feet really powerfully towards them. "Come Darian!" shouted Vane as he flew up. Darian grabbed his paws and they flew up toward the ceiling.
As Octavia arrived kicking her feet, she wasn't able to hit anyone, so she looked up and saw the two alterids. "Ice armor!" shouted Darian as he threw himself towards Octavia. "It won't work!" shouted her as she jumped and kicked her feet right on Darian's stomach. As the kick was about to hit his body, the armor exploded and the multiple fragments all rushed towards Octavia, making her body bleed because of the multiple scratches.
Octavia was thrown on the ground; her body smashed against the floor and created a hole. Darian, on the other hand, landed without any problem. Octavia was dizzy, her head was hurting, and only one thought was in her mind, 'Why the hell before his spells were so damn weak… and now he's so powerful?' thought her, not being able to find an answer.
Without being able to realize what was happening, Vane rushed down towards her, while Darian created multiple ice shards towards her. "ARGHH!" Octavia made and created a wall of fire all around her. The shards melted and Vane had to stop to not get burned.
'Wait…' Octavia stopped thinking for a moment before she realized something. "It's the heattt…" said her as the wall disappeared. Vane, who had now returned to normal, his body bleeding, landed next to Darian. Both of them looked directly at Octavia, who had a creepy look on her face.
"It looks like that spell of yours can't get closer to me," said her as she loaded fire under her feet. Suddenly she rushed once again towards them. Darian was about to cast another ice shard towards her before noticing something: the fire under her feet was weaker.
"Vane, go away! She's about to do something!" shouted Darian as Vane stepped back, turning into an eagle. "You're mine!" shouted Octavia as a wall of fire erupted all around Darian. The right moment he cast the spell, the shard got melted. 'It can't be possible…' thought him, scared, as he got hit by Octavia's kick, which was weaker than before because she had to raise the wall.
Darian was thrown towards the wall of fire; as he passed through it, he felt his whole body burning up. His body wasn't melting, but he could still feel the pain. As he got his head up, he saw Octavia, who was bleeding like Vane. She raised even more walls around Darian, who looked scared at the sight of that.
"I won't let you do that!" shouted Vane from behind; he rushed once again towards Octavia, his body sweating because of the heat. Octavia, hearing the scream, turned around with her usual creepy expression. Vane, scared, flinched a bit and lost speed.
Now that Octavia was turned, Darian created multiple shards, but only a few of them were able to hit; in fact, most of them melted even before they reached Octavia's body. Octavia turned around annoyed. "Is this a sort of mosquito?" whispered her as she touched the place where she got hit. Now Vane was only a few steps away from her, and soon he would hit her.
"I… need to help him," thought Darian as he focused on creating a single shard. Now this one was able to resist the heat. Octavia, seeing two things about to hit her, jumped with her legs closed. Once Vane and the shard were both close enough, she opened her legs mid–air, kicking really strongly both things. The shard immediately shattered and the few pieces melted. Darian looked over the shard being destroyed, another try, another failure, while Vane received a really powerful kick directly on his face and was thrown away.
'I need to do something more… it can't be over now…' thought Darian as he got his hand up to cast more shards towards Octavia, who had just landed on the ground. But it didn't work; the shards were too weak and melted the moment they came out. Vane was laying on the ground, not being able to do anything; he returned to normal and was breathing heavily. On the other hand, Octavia was bleeding and her vision became blurry, but she could still move around freely.
She kneeled near Darian, who could barely do anything. "What is it? Did you two get destroyed immediately?" asked her ironically. Darian could barely answer.
"I'm sorry for you all, but this city will now belong to our boss. There is nothing you can do to stop us anymore," said her, grabbing Darian from his hair. His eyes were about to close.
'She's right… there is nothing we can do anymore…' thought him. His eyes were about to close, but suddenly he heard a voice coming from his mind: 'It isn't over yet, master.' Suddenly Darian gained back his strength and from the place where Snowy fused, appeared one of the tails. Octavia hadn't noticed it yet. "Well, you two fought nicely… it was funny until it lasted," said her as a powerful fireball was being created from her arm, about to hit Darian directly on his face.
