Nobody knew the history behind Xavier and me; not even Xavier did. Maybe that's why people could think we had something else going on, since we naturally got along so well.
But I'm aromantic, supposedly, and he's, certainly, gay. Whatever they imagined had no way to become canon.
To be honest, I've been giving the aromantic matter some serious thought lately.
I like men. I really do. I think they are attractive, and I'm sure I'm hetero too, but—loving someone romantically? I'm not so sure. It sounds foreign to me, like a language I can't quite translate.
Taking Xavier as an example, he's really handsome, objectively speaking. If he weren't gay, he would be incredibly attractive to me as a man. We have nice conversations; he's gentle, considerate, well-educated, and funny. I feel like with the personality he has and how he's built, Xavier could actually protect me. I could see myself becoming really girly around him since he's the manly kind.
